The polar bear population is decreasing and the species is endangered. Global warming is causing Arctic sea ice to melt rapidly, taking away the polar bear's sea ice habitat where they hunt for fish. Over 25% of Arctic sea ice has disappeared in the last 30 years due to global warming caused by human activities like burning fossil fuels. As the sea ice melts, polar bears and other Arctic species are threatened with extinction if protection measures are not implemented quickly.

Since 2008, the polar bear has become an endangered animal. Its population

is decreasing in its natural habitat. The polar bear is in danger of many reasons,

but mainly because of global warming. Heating homes, driving cars, and burning

Polar bears live mainly on the sea ice in the Arctic. This is where they hunt

World Wildlife Fund says that 25% of the Arctic sea ice has disappeared in the

past 30 years. Every kinds of plant, animal, and insect there is threatened by

global warming.

There are laws that protect these animals from being hunted for food or

sport. Agencies also receive money and tools to protect the habitat. Sadly many
