The images illustrate the alterations to a township called Pentland from 1980 to 2007. Overall,
the establishment had become more residential, with the addition of various town amenities and

Regarding the west of the main road which runs north to south through the centre of the map, a
yacht marina was constructed on the seafront in the north, and the main road was extended into
two curvy coastal paths travelling east and west. The industrial area was demolished, creating
space for a multi-level car park. To the north of this facility, a new park was opened and a
swimming pool was built on the northern grassland. Various stores were added in this
northwestern corner. Furthermore, a cinema was built on the southwestern grassland along with
the addition of one shop to the northeast of this building.

Turning to the other side of the main road, many seafront apartments were built on the extended
road. A number of shops were opened near the centre and the car park was removed. Finally, a
junction was opened in the southeast area of Pentland, intersecting the main road and dividing
the untouched lawn horizontally into two blocks of houses lining both sides. (192 words)

development.

The sketch illustrates the present layout and proposed alterations to Islip town. Overall, the most
significant change in the town is the construction of a dual carriageway that will encircle most of
the settlement along with more houses and town amenities.

Presently, the main road runs across from the west to the east of Islip town, with two rows of
shops lining both sides. While the north side of the shops has undeveloped land, to the south of
them is a residential area. Furthermore, there are two small roads connected to the west and the
east of the main road, leading southward to a school and a park, respectively.

The planned project shows that there will be a new dual carriageway surrounding the town, except
for the southern housing zone and the school, which will be expanded. The existing main road
will be closed to vehicles and dedicated to pedestrians only. The northern line of shops will be
replaced with a bus station, a shopping centre and a car park, in addition to a new housing area
with a small road connecting to the east of the carriageway. Finally, the southern shops will remain
intact, while the park will be decreased in size to make space for a new neighborhood. (210

The map illustrates the development of a city since 1950. Overall, there has been an expansion
of the city with the addition of more housing, business areas and transportation infrastructure as
well as a long lake has been created from the river.

The population of the city recorded a tenfold increase from 20,000 to 200,000. In addition, the
main residential area that was located in the northern half of the map has now expanded
significantly southward with more main roads.

In the south east of the river, a dam was constructed to form a lake stretching from the western
to eastern edge of the residential area, which replaced that section of the river. The bridge which
was built across the river has now been extended over the lake and a second one has been built
on the east side of the city near the dam. More business estates have been developed on the
southern shore of the lake. Finally, there is presently another government building to the south
and the airport situated to the east of the city has been tripled in size. (180 words)
The map below shows the development of the village of Ryemouth between 1995 and
present.

Given are the maps illustrating the changes to a village called Ryemouth from 1995 to the present
day. Overall, Ryemouth underwent various changes with the development of more residential and
recreational areas and the demolition of all the structures related to the fishing industry.

To the north of the coastal road which runs from east to west, many changes have occurred. The
residential area that was located in the north west has recorded an expansion to the south.
Moreover, in the northeast part of the town the areas that were the agricultural land and the
woodland have been repurposed for the construction of a golf course and tennis courts. To the
south of the sports amenities, the hotel remained unchanged apart from the addition of a car park.
Across the road from the hotel to the west, the shops lying along the coastal road have been
transformed into several restaurants.
In the southern section of the coastal drive, the fish market has been demolished to build a number
of seafront apartments and the fishing port located further south has been completely removed.
Finally, the café situated, on the seafront, in the south east has remained the same. (200 words)

The floor plans illustrate the proposed changes to an office building. Overall, the most
noticeable changes are the removal of grass areas and the expansion of the building.
Regarding the exterior design, the lawn to the left of the structure will be changed to an outdoor
seating area equipped with chairs. Moreover, the grass area on the right will be incorporated
into the building in which the bottom-right part of it will be turned into a meeting area with chairs,
and the top-right corner will have a toilet added and a coffee machine next to it.

Looking at the interior of the building, in the top-right of the building, the storeroom will remain
intact. In the top- left corner, the kitchen and the canteen will be replaced by two offices. The
entrance on the left is projected to remain unchanged. At the bottom side, there are presently
four office rooms; however, the planned proposal is to have only two larger office rooms. Finally,
the entrance with bigger doors which is on the bottom right area will be relocated to between the

The illustrations reveal the alterations of a trade conference center from 2009 to 2010. Overall,
the interior design of the building underwent various changes with the arrangement of rooms
and the removal of the display area.

In the top-left corner of the conference center, the main entrance remained unchanged. The
concert hall and meeting room located in the bottom-left corner were replaced by a new
exhibition area with the removal of all the seating. In addition, the display in the middle of the
room was removed.

On the right side of the plan, the place which used to be the exhibition area was changed to a
new concert hall including a stage and a few seats. Adjacent to it was a balcony on the bottom-
right side, which was equipped with a lounge area. Moreover, the side door remained intact.
Finally, the registration room which was located between the main and the side entrance was
converted into a refreshment area and the new location for this room was placed next to the

noticeable changes were the disappearance of the flowers and the addition of recreational
facilities.

Looking firstly at the bottom left area, in 1980, the flowerbeds in the bottom left corner were
converted into bushes. On top of this was a pond surrounded by benches, and additional seats
have since been placed. A gate in the middle led to an upward-sloping pathway that curved to the
left at the pond and ended at another gate. These paths were subsequently made curvier and
extended further to the top and the right side. Furthermore, all the gates were removed.

Turning to the right section of the park, the flowers area in the bottom right corner was also
demolished to give room for a playground. The wooden area in the upper right corner was
decreased in size, creating space for recreational amenities including chairs, desks and

The pictures describe the alterations that took place in Willington town between 1780, 1860, and
2000. Overall, the most noticeable changes in the town was the removal of all agriculture and
woodlands. Additionally, the town had become more residential with rising amenities.

Looking firstly at the west of the maps, there was a river running from the northwest of Willington
to the southwest. In 1860, a bridge was constructed across the middle of the river and a road was
opened near the bridge to the north, leading to the village in the east. Moreover, a wetland for
birds was built at the south end of the water flow in 2000 . The farming area in the middle of the
town from 1780 was halved in size by 1860 and completely removed by 2000. A row of shops
was established, lining the eastern river bank.

Turning to the east of Willington, the village in the northeast contained 100 homes in 1780, which
increased in number to 200 in 1860 and reached 500 homes in 2000. The woods in the southeast
saw a decline over the years and were demolished entirely by 2000, giving space for new
amenities including schools and sports fields. Finally, a road was constructed to provide
accessibility from the housing area to these new facilities. (216 words)
