Mikrotik device netinstall tutorial

Step 1:

Software: go to https://mikrotik.com/download to download tools and the corresponding

architecture system package

Select netinstall to download the latest official Stable version


View the system architecture of the Mikrotik device and confirm the software package to be

downloaded. In this example, the mipsbe architecture is used.

If you can log in to the device, you can view the system architecture of the device in the title

bar of the winbox.

If the device fails to start normally and cannot be logged in to view from winbox, you can

confirm the device model and query the corresponding device model on the right of the

corresponding architecture bar of the official website.


Then download the Main package of the system software in the below RouterOS column, and

still choose the latest official version (Stable).

Step 2: Boot the Mikrotik device into netinstall mode

1. Configure a static IP address for the cable Ethernet port, such as 192.168.88.10

(Just fill in the IP and Subnet mask, as shown below)

If you are not familiar with the modification computer, you can go to the Ethernet Port IP

configuration menu by following the link below

2. Open the netinstall software, click Net booting, check Boot Server enabled in the pop-up

box, and fill in the IP address of the subnet with the Ethernet port of the computer

(192.168.88.11 for example), and then click OK.


3, connect the Ethernet port of the computer to the BOOT port of the Mikrotik device, which

is generally the first interface Ether1 or the port marked with "BOOT" (carrier-grade

equipment marked with this identifier is connected to the port);

4. Power off the device, hold down the reset button, power on again, and release the

button until the software interface recognizes the device information;

(Generally, the duration of pressing the button is not more than 30 seconds. If the repeated

operation cannot be identified, please replace the computer or try to access the switch device

in the middle of the two. If it cannot be found, please contact the sales directly.)
5. Select the device and click Browse to select the path for storing the system package
6. Select the software package below and click Install.

7. After brushing the machine, the Reboot button will appear. Click the button to restart the

machine, and the device status will be OK;

(Some models of the device will automatically restart, do not need to click this button,

depending on the status)


8. After brushing the machine, wait for the device to restart and directly scan winbox to log in

with the mac address (no IP address after brushing the machine)
