Laboratory for nursing student

Albertus Zakarias Runturambi Wenas / Bethesda College of Health Sciences Tomohon
3. Type of Project : Education
4. Project Description :
The competency exam is one of the efforts to standardize the quality of Nursing
Vocational graduates which describes the quality of Indonesian nurse education based on
the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI). OSCE is an objective and
structured clinical competency testing method in the form of station rotation with a
certain time allocation. The OSCE assessment is objective because all students are tested
using the same exam method. In addition, OSCE was chosen because it has advantages in
measuring the competence of graduate nurses up to the stage of how certain skills are
displayed ("ShowHow") by the raters. Currently, there are 9 criteria for the LAM-PTKes
accreditation assessment form that require Health education institutions to carry out
practical examinations using the OSCE method to evaluate the learning process and
improve the quality of graduates. Responding to these demands, we views that the
availability of OSCE room is very urgent, that is why we plan to build an OSCE Laboratory,
but as this time we don't have the funds needed yet.
The Bethesda College of Health Sciences Tomohon is the only Christian Health College in
North Sulawesi that is affiliated with the Minahasa Evangelical Christian Church (GMIM)
which is a transformation of the Nursing Academy since June 15, 2022 based on the
Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology decree number 437/E/O/2022.
As you know, our main source of income comes from student tuition fees and most of
our student are Christians who have financial problem and even need financial
assistance. We really hope and are very grateful if we get help to realize our plan to
create a OSCE laboratory includes building and equipments.
