Parka
The origin of parka
- A parka is defined as a long, hooded (usually fur-lined) coat that is well insulated
and designed to protect the body from cold and rainy weather.
- Parka translated into Vietnamese can be roughly understood as"animal skin"or "fur".
The provenance of Parka has not been confirmed yet. Some argue that parka comes
from the Nenets (Eskimo) language of the Samoyedic people of the Ural Mountains
in northern Russia.

- Thigh Length: Traditional parka jackets are usually thigh length, above the knee to
facilitate keeping the lower body warm.
- Today, they are varied and are often divided into 2 types: short parka (length above the
waist) and long parka (length below the knee).
- Fur hood: Arctic parka always has a fur-lined hood to block the wind and keep warm,
traditionally fox or rabbit fur would be used but today artificial fur is the more popular
choice.
- Filled with goose feathers : the traditional parka would be
lined with goose feathers, but now more synthetic materials
are used.

M-51 Fishtail
Originally, fishtail parkas were made of
windproof nylon or cotton in an olive gray
color. They typically have two large front
pockets, a small sleeve pocket, a fishtail
like tail, and a removable wool lining to
keep them warm.16

Arctic Parka
This style is derived from the N-3B parka
specially designed for soldiers stationed in
extremely cold climates. It is usually made
of nylon, combined with a wool or fleece
lining and has an extremely warm fur

they are tailored and lean towards minimalism, they can be
