Abstract
Technology is a recent word that appeared in the lexis on much later than most
people realize. Descriptive methode is a research method that tries to describe
phonemon, occurrence, event, that happens in the present. Then, based on the interpret, I
assumed that a descriptive qualitative methode is relative to make this paper. The writter
analyzed the impact of technology in education. Technology has a positive impact that we
need a lot in the world of education and also has a negative impact that is detrimental to
ourselves in using and accessing it in the world of education. Both of these impacts are
very influential for us in the world of education. If we want to be more advanced and
modern in education we should use it properly.

A. Introduction
Technology is a recent word that appeared in the lexis on much later than most
people realize (Mit hem and S Hertzberg, 2009; Hughes, 2005; Nye, 2006). We can
roughly date the emergent e of the term technology to the 17th century. It appeared in the
second edition of Thomas Blount's Glossography, a 1661 dictionary of Hard Words, but
was not in the rest edition (Nye, 2006), so we can assume it started to be more commonly
used around that time. However, it wasn't in common usage nearly a century later it
wasn't in Samuel Johnson's dictionary of 1755, not in subsequent editions until the mid-
19th century. In fat to the term technology was rarely used in the 19th century. Cornell's
`Making of America a' are hive contains 100,000 19th century documents. Technology
was found in it only 34 times before 1840. Of those 34, 31 were in a single book The
Elements of Technology by Bigelow (1829), who dropped the term from the 1840
edition, which he retitled The Usefulness of Arts (Mit ham and S Hertzberg, 2012: 35).

Between 1860 and 1870 `technology' only appeared 149 times in the area hive while the
term invention appeared 24,957 times (Nye, 2006: 12).2
The era of 23 " world is usually appreciation in era five point zero". Era five point
zero is the people who have involved a lot of technology in his life. In the world at era 5.0
is one of the effects of the modern developments. This generation itself is an
improvement that takes place with inside the subject of technology. This idea turned into
first initiated via way of means of Japan. This idea itself has the intention of facilitating
all of the wishes of the network via way of means of utilizing technological know-how
primarily based totally on present day technology. One of the goods of the generation of
era [Link] is the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and robots
to create comfort for all of the wishes of society.
In addition, several studies have shown that technology and online learning are
beneficial to the learning process, making it more interesting and enjoyable for students.
Although concerns remain, parents and educators are more open to revolutionary changes
in education. Recently, technology is an integral and important part of our daily life and
education. Technology can make learning easier, fun, collaborative and engaging for
students of all ages. Although technology has traditionally been used as a tool for
PowerPoint presentations, today technology affects all stages of the learning process,
such as real-time assessment, project sharing, group work, etc. The use of virtual
classrooms in isolation has proven its capabilities. Gives students the opportunity to move
more freely and independently in assignments and projects.
The impact of technology on the learning can be seen in the way students learn say
a study by The University of California at Los Angeles. The study found that students
learn better when using technology. While life in the wild can be fun, advances in
technology help we live more convenient, safer, and more resourceful lives. Today, it is
impossible to imagine life without depending on technology.
Descriptive methode is a research method that tries to describe phonemon,

B. Factors Affecting Technology in Education
Factors affecting technology in education. With these new technologies, therefore,

students/teachers are using the latest software at home.
Positive Impact of Technology in Education
According to Ausubel,”meaningful learning occurs when there is personal recognition
of the links between concepts; better understanding of concepts will result from proper
negotiations of meanings across links that are created with relevant prior knowledge”
(Keengwe, 2008). These complex ideas and information are combined with students’
own experiences and prior knowledge to form personal and unique understandings.
Learning is meaningful when the student comprehends the relationship of what is
being learned to other knowledge (Workbooks, 2008).
1. Kit out students with many technical skills
In today's Era 23, the use of computers and other media in the internet website has
become necessary. With so much information and help available online, no student is
a stranger to finding their niche and developing their skills. As technology advances,
the more students use it, the better they will be able to deal with the technical
problems they will encounter in their practical life after their studies.
2. Promotes Learning and Helps Students
The details of all subjects are available online on various websites where students can
go if they are stuck. Thanks to technology, smartphones, laptops and iPods are easily
accessible to everyone, so students can manage their work from anywhere. Smart
boards and 3D printers have also arrived in the classrooms, which can be used to
practically teach students subjects. Today, the new stress caused by the COVID-19
pandemic has made technology even more visible. During the pandemic, the use of
online education has increased, allowing students to become familiar with technology
and its appropriate use in learning. In the past, not all schools and colleges used
technology to facilitate learning and students, so COVID-19 made it necessary.
Technology companies want to develop tools and wearable technologies that further
advance the use of technology.
3. Expands the Minds of Students
Students' most important weapon in learning is their brain. But now they can find any
article, research paper, journal, video and audio on any topic online in seconds. There

are many sites on the internet where you can access millions of books without leaving
your home.
There are even video games you can play to improve your mental productivity. These
games focus on strategies and challenges that stimulate your brain to solve problems.
4. Positive Impact of ChatGPT on Students
As an AI model, ChatGPT can greatly influence students by providing them with
instant answers to their questions. ChatGPT allows students to seek clarity in
conversation and learn new concepts.
Here are some ways ChatGPT can impact students.
Enhanced Learning: ChatGPT can give students access to a wealth of knowledge and
information, helping them learn new concepts and understand complex topics.
Advanced Problem Solving: ChatGPT can help students solve problems by providing
them with step-by-step solutions to their questions. Time saving: ChatGPT can save
students time by providing them with instant answers to their questions, eliminating
the need to spend hours searching for information.
The Negative Impact of Technology in Education
Technology is radically changing the way we understand the learning process,
defined by Wikipedia as the set of strategies people deploy in “acquiring new, or
modifying existing, knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences.” Computer-
based instruction is now prevailing throughout the learning environments all over the
world, reshaping minds and imposing new roles on both teachers and students. Thanks
to the integration of technology in classroom environments, students are active,
motived and eager to learn (Al-Hariri & Al-Hattami, 2007; Aloraini, 2012; Eyyam, &
Yaratan, 2014). They also assume greater responsibility for their learning (Johnson,
Schwab, & Foa, 1999). Individualizing learning, which is regarded as an implication
of technology, makes students more capable to cope with problems independently
(Viorica-Torii & Carmen, 2013).
1. Technology Kills Social Nature
One of the most negative effects of technology on our students is that it slowly
and gradually kills their social skills and makes them want to remain isolated. They
easily become addicted to technology, which in turn makes them use it more and
more. So this kind of excessive use kills their social skills and therefore they don't
socialize or interact well in real life, which is a really worrying situation.

Technology is also a big disruptor. Students know very well that technology is
great and open learning for them, but when the use of technology is introduced, most
of them use it negatively. Instead of learning things, they try to access the wrong
things available on the internet. The easy availability of wrong and inappropriate
things not only annoys them but also affects their learning ability. Therefore, parents
and teachers must be smart enough to set strict limits on technology transfer to
students. Positive results for students are possible only if they have strong control.
3. Educational Technology Hinders Students Communication Skills
Developing the communication skills of our students is very important for the
development of the education system. With the help of interpersonal skills, the student
learns to communicate effectively with other subjects. In the field of education with
the rapid development of technology, technology is somehow an obstacle to students'
communication. Instead of using their minds, they become more and more dependent.
Technology also hurts their problem solving skills simply because they rely more on
technology.
4. Technology Affects Health
Excessive use of technology harms the health of students. Technology affects
not only physical health but also mental health. You can also read about the impact of
technology on health and how we can minimize their impact.
Physical effects may include:
1. Obesity
2. Less blood circulation
3. Arched back
4. Bad body position
5. Headache
6. Poor eyesight
Mental consequences or psychological problems may include:
1. Disturbances
2. Depression
3. Anxiety
5. Technology Makes Students Waste Their Time
Is using technology for entertainment bad? Students use information not only
for learning but also for entertainment. If their access to inappropriate information for
entertainment is greater than their access to learning, it is a waste of time. Internet is
really useful if and only if it is used properly, but mostly students waste their time on

internet. If students use too much irrelevant information, it not only wastes their time,
but also damages their learning ability.

C. Conclusion
Technology has a positive impact that we need a lot in the world of education and
also has a negative impact that is detrimental to ourselves in using and accessing it in the
world of education. Both of these impacts are very influential for us in the world of
education. If we want to be more advanced and modern in education we should use it
properly.
