PHYSICAL/SEXUAL SELF

1. Describe your physical/sexual self.

 I believe that the majority of us, including myself, have flaws and insecurities about our
physical bodies or appearance. I've been unhappy with certain features of my physical
appearance for a very long time. I don't like my hair, my nose, my height, or the way my
face is shaped.
My mother suggested that I visit a salon and have my hair rebonded when I was in high
school since I've always had frizzy hair, which makes me feel insecure. As a result, up
until this point, my hair has been rebonded. I am about 156 cm tall; some people would
say that I am just the right height, while others would say I am too short. When it comes
to the form of my face, someone once told me that my jaw is long. At first, I didn't
believe him, but I've since realized that he was correct, and I now feel self-conscious
about it whenever I look in the mirror or snap selfies. My physical imperfections led to
low self-esteem. I'm learning to embrace my imperfections and flaws since I find it
distasteful and will only make me feel sorry for myself. Despite everything I said about
the aspects of my physical appearance that I dislike, there are still features of myself
that I adore, such as my eyes, my skin tone, and the way my body is shaped. Most
people assume I'm grouchy because of my almond-shaped eyes, which I acquired from
my father, but I'm not; it's simply the way I look. Additionally, I enjoy my skin tone
because it is real for a Filipino and complements me.
In terms of my sexual self, I am aware of the genders that are represented in our society
today and that I belong to the feminine gender. I treat others with respect and consider
their feelings when I interact with them because I don't want to hurt or offend them.
Although I am attracted to males, my studies are my top priority right now, so I'm not
into that stuff.

2. Who or what do you think has had the strongest influence in the development of your
physical/sexual self?
 My significant others such as my family, friends, and the people around me, including
those who belittle me, have, in my opinion and based on my experiences, had the most
impact on the development of my physical and sexual selves. I was raised by my parents,
and they are largely responsible for the person I am now. My perception of what a body
should be like and what it should be capable of was influence by my parents, when they
talk about bodies, both their own and mine. Ever since I was young until now, they
taught me how to behave or act and dress accordingly. My friends have had an impact
on me because I respect their opinions on my sexual and physical appearance. They
made me aware of aspects of myself that I would not have otherwise noticed or been
aware of. People who belittle me are also the ones who have influenced me because
they have given me motivation to be a better version of myself. I want to prove to them
that they are wrong. Because they aid me in understanding and being conscious of
various elements and views relating not only to my physical and sexual self but also to
others, traditional beliefs and culture have also had an impact on me.
3. How does your physical/sexual self impact other aspects of the ‘self’?
 Getting to know my body and how it feels is crucial for improving my self-awareness.
They have a range of effects on many facets of who I am, such as my sense of fulfillment
and self-worth. I think that every aspect of who we are will always affect the others. My
physical and sexual self-esteem will have an effect on how the other components
function or behave if I don't feel good about myself. For instance, in my economic and
material self, if I am unhappy with the appearance of my skin and face, I will
undoubtedly spend more money on cosmetics or beauty products; or with my body, I
will try to make sure it is well taken care of and invest in things that help ensure it
functions, such as food, for example.
4. How have you been taking better care of your physical/sexual self?
 I take good care of my body by eating at the appropriate times since I don't want to
continue to lose weight. I take care of my face to avoid breakouts, and I make sure to
stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, which also makes the skin seem great. My ways
for taking care of my sexual identity include maintaining an open mind and being
attentive to what is happening around me. I also maintain good communication and
relationships with those around me.
5. In what way has your physical/sexual self grown after having taken the course?
 My perspective on my physical and sexual selves has changed and broadened since
finishing the course. I came to see how special each of us is and how crucial it is to
accept and love both ourselves and others around us. I firmly believe that we shouldn't
denigrate others if we don't want others to do the same to us. Because body positivity is
a larger societal movement that appreciates all bodies and rejects fat shaming and
structural weight bias, it is crucial to promote this vision. Through this program, I've
learned how to handle myself as a sexual being, including my beliefs and principles, my
thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as my bodies, desires, relationships, and
gender.
6. In what way do you want it to continue to grow in the coming years? What further steps do
you plan to take to work on your physical and sexual self?
 By continuing to apply the knowledge I learned in this course, exploring it, and modifying
it to our society, I can continue to develop it in the years to come. The first thing I intend
to do for my physical and sexual self is to take care of them and keep my body healthy
by abstaining from unhealthy habits like smoking and drinking. Understanding that
unprotected and careless sexual contact increases the risk of contracting a variety of
sexually transmitted illnesses makes it vital to avoid intercourse. It's important to always
think about what's best for me and people around me.

Material / Economic Self

1. Describe your material/economic self.
 I am the type of person that values my body and health so highly that I spend most of
my money on food. I also spend money on clothing because I want to always seem
decent and presentable. I base my clothing purchases on both price and style because,
in today's society, a lot of people judge you only by the way you look. I utilize my money
to buy the things I need, such the supplies I need for school and for personal hygiene,
and sometimes I tend to be an impulsive buyer. If I have any extra cash or savings, I use
it to buy some painting materials since painting gives me happiness: or I give it to my
father to help pay for the things we also need, like water and power bills.
2. Who or what do you think has had the strongest influence in the development of your
material/economic self?
 The huge factor influencing my material and economic development, in my perspective,
is me because I am the only one who can make it happen due to my own efforts and will.
Furthermore, there are the people I interact with, my desire to fit in, social media, and
our economy's ongoing growth and change. It is no wonder that our time has seen the
invention of many things, but we often fail to recognize how this growth has also
increased our desire to keep up with what is readily available and fashionable in our
surroundings. Following trends is not necessarily a negative thing, in my opinion; what's
important is that we are conscious of whether they are good or bad, and we should
constantly be aware of our limits or boundaries.
3. How does your material/economic self impact other aspects of the ‘self’?
 My material and financial self has an impact on other aspects of "self," since if you are
delighted with one component of yourself, it will eventually have an impact on the
others. For instance, when I purchase the clothes I desire, it brings me happiness and
also has a beneficial effect on my physical self since I will gain self-esteem and feel good
about my image. Additionally, when I am self-assured, I will have the confidence to post
on social media about who or what I am; in other words, it will affect my digital self.
4. How have you been taking better care of your material/economic self?
 I took better care of my material and economic selves by prioritizing my needs over my
wants. I am the type of person that is really sentimental, so when I have something that I
have given or purchased, I retain them and enjoy them. I also use money responsibly
and am a sensible consumer.
5. In what way has your material/economic self grown after having taken the course?
 My material and economic self have improved as a result of learning and applying this
subject. My knowledge of where and how to spend money has improved. I've discovered
that investing in experiences rather than tangible stuff would be a better use of money.
It made me realize that living a simpler life and putting less emphasis on materialistic
things help me to appreciate what I already have and direct my attention and gratitude
toward the intangible things that truly matter: my health and quality of life, and my
relationships.
6. In what way do you want it to continue to grow in the coming years? What further steps do
you plan to take to work on your material and economic self?
 I aim to become more materially productive in the years to come by managing my
money wisely and understanding the things that are more important to spend money
on, such as my relationships, health, and overall quality of life. I also intend to prioritize
my necessities over my wants in order to build my material and financial selves. As long
as I am comfortable with my actions and am taking part in the experience, I won't be
frightened to take them. I will use my skills or knowledge of art to recycle things while
using them. Additionally, I am aware from personal experience how difficult it is for me
to resist purchasing items, especially when it comes to foods that I am wanting, but I will
make an effort to do so now.

Spiritual Self
1. Describe your spiritual self.
 I still have a lot of self-discovering and spiritual growth to do, if I had to sum up my
current spirituality. I'm still learning about different areas of my life that could
strengthen my spiritual wellness.
2. Who or what do you think has had the strongest influence in the development of your
spiritual self?
 I believe that current circumstances help me become a better spiritual person because
of the environment we are all in today, where we are all dealing with numerous
problems and issues that have a big impact on my life or our lives. As a result, I come to
the realization that being socially active and having a variety of experiences strengthens
me and influences me to improve, allowing me to significantly improve not just my own
life but also the lives of those around me.
3. How does your spiritual self impact other aspects of the ‘self’?
 One of the most important aspects of our existence as humans is thought to be our
spiritual selves. It affects both my behavior and how I see other people. Because it
affects my total self, the spiritual self has an effect on other facets of the self. It's one of
the factors that influences how I act. It also provides the foundation of my views and
influences how I think and behave in the society to which I belong. I believe that there is
a much more profound explanation for how spirituality affects other elements of
ourselves.
4. How have you been taking better care of your spiritual self?
 My ability to take care of my spiritual self is demonstrated by the fact that I have been
able to uphold and remain loyal to my beliefs on spiritual entities. By regularly praying
and paying respect to what I considered to be holy and sacred, I took care of it. By taking
better care of my spiritual self, I am able to plan and set aside time to communicate with
God through prayer. My faith and belief are not waning, and I will keep acting in this way
to develop my spiritual self as a Catholic who trusts in Jesus Christ as the only true god.
5. In what way has your political self grown after having taken the course?
 The course served as a reminder of my spiritual weaknesses and areas that I needed to
develop, which has helped me improve. It gave me solutions I could use to grow and
improve my spiritual self. Because I had the opportunity to learn more about myself in
this lesson and, more importantly, because it helped me learn more about my spiritual
self, this course is genuinely about understanding oneself.
6. In what way do you want it to continue to grow in the coming years? What further steps do
you plan to take to work on your political self?
 By continuously taking my time through prayer. My spiritual self is more significant to
me than everything else, and I think that fact alone proves it. I believe in a holy object
that cannot be touched or seen and is symbolized by altars and monuments. And I
believe it will continue in the coming years.  I'll make time accessible to develop a
sterner, more holy spirituality. I shall make every effort to complete the responsibilities
at hand in order to further my spiritual development. These actions can entail
understanding what is required, carrying out my current obligations as a person, being
conscious of my spiritual convictions, setting aside time to strengthen my spirituality,
and doing actions that I believe will foster the development of my spirituality.
