Materials
 Medium worsted weight yarn.
• Red: Holly Berry – Red Heart with Love.
• Black: Black – Red Heart Super Saver.
• Yellow: Gold – Red Heart Super Saver.
• White: White - Red Heart Super Saver.
 Crochet hook: D/3 - 3.25 mm (see Gauge).
 Tapestry needle.
 Stitch marker.
 Scissors.
 Polyester fiberfill stuffing.
 Pins.

Gauge
You can use a different hook and type of yarn other than the ones listed but remember to check
your gauge.
Gauge is not critical but it’s important that stitches are close together and a bit tight (but not
too much) so stuffing is not visible.
Consider crocheting a sample first; let’s say the first 5 rows of the doll’s head. Then take some
stuffing, place it behind this circle and push it, this will stretch your work.
If the stitches stretch too much and you can see the stuffing, try to tighten your crochet or change
your hook to a smaller size. I tend to crochet a bit loose and that is why I prefer to use a D/3 hook.
If you feel like it is hard to crochet (stitches are too close together and it is hard to pull the
hook/yarn through) crochet more loosely or change to a bigger hook.
Crocheting too tight for too long is going to make your hands hurt, trust me!

Recommendations
I encourage you to first read each section before starting. Become familiar with the layout and
instructions, this will ease your crochet.
Although you can follow this pattern starting in any section, it is suggested that you follow the
order of this pattern as it is presented. Each section builds up on the next section and various
techniques may be presented that could be missed if the pattern isn’t followed as it is presented.

Abbreviations
ch = chain * * = repeat from* to * as many times as indicated.
st = stitch BLO = back loop only FLO = back loop only
sc = single crochet MR = magic ring FO = finish off
hdc = half double crochet dc = double crochet sl st = slip stitch
dec = decrease (decrease 2 sc together) inc = increase (crochet 2 sc in same st)
3dec = decrease 3 stitches together

Finished size
This doll is approximately 11” tall. Your finished doll might turn out bigger or smaller
than 11 inches depending on the yarn and hook you use and your gauge (tension).

Fingers Guide for Iron Man 2|Page

The fingers will be ‘tube like’. To create the tips of the fingers simply sew this tube
close. You can use a smaller hook for this part.
Here is a list of how many and the total amount of stitches each finger has.
Remember to leave a tail after finishing each finger.
• Index: form a circle of 7 sc, crochet 4 rounds = 28 sc + 3 sc + sl st = 32 st
• Middle finger: form a circle of 6sc, crochet 4 rounds = 24sc + 2sc + sl st = 27st
• Ring finger: form a circle of 6 sc, crochet 4 rounds = 24 sc + 2sc + sl st = 27 st
• Pinky: form a circle of 6 sc, crochet 4 rounds = 24 sc + 2 sc + sl st = 27 st
• Thumb: pick up 6 sc, crochet 4 rounds = 24 sc + 2 sc + sl st = 27 st

NOTE: Some of the photos shown here and throughout this pattern are for
illustrative purposes only and may not represent actual colors to be used.

For the Index finger:

Crochet 5 sc. Fold arm. Count
back 5 stitches and place pin or a
stitch marker. Now you have 5
stitches already made (Figure A)
The 6th st will close the tube. Make
a sc were you placed the pin
(Figures A and B). Turn your work.
Now make the 7th st in the same
place as the 6th (Figure C).

Keep crocheting until you have

31 st (include these first 7 stitches
in the total count). Slip stitch to the
next stitch to smooth the edge
(Figures D and E).

Turn your work and crochet the 5th in the same place you placed 4th (Figure I).

Tip: 1 What I do is: first I crochet index, middle, ring and pinky fingers.
I stuff the arm through the index finger (I use a pen or pencil to help me push the
stuffing) Figure R. Then I sew the tip holes and with what is left from that tail I sew
the gap between the fingers (Figure S).
You might think it is more difficult to stuff the arm this way but it’s easier to crochet
with an empty arm/ hand. You won’t pull the stuffing out with your hook.

Figure R Figure S

For the Thumb:

You can easily find the place where you have to place your stitches by pushing your
hook against the arm (see Figure T), you will see an indentation or a fold (this is
Round 8 of the Arm). There is where we want to start.
In Figure U, the white pins mark where the first 3 stitches should go. Turn your work
and pick up the remaining 3 stitches creating a circle (Figure V). Keep crocheting in
spiral rounds until you have 26 sc. Finish with a sl st. Leave a tail.
Sew the tip of the thumb closed.

Figure W shows the finished hand.

Note: You can skip crocheting the thumb if you

feel unsure about picking up stitches or if you don’t
like how it turns out.

I do not stuff fingers but you can stuff them.
