“Lord Jesus, teach me how to be Your bride.
I yield every realm of my wifehood to You.
I hear the Spirit saying, “the type of bride you’ll be is based on how you see ME.”
The veil has been torn—and with an unveiled face, as I behold the glory of the Lord (my Bridegroom),
transform me into the same image (where two become one) from one degree of glory to another, THIS comes
from the Spirit of the Lord. [2 Corinthians 3:18]
It doesn’t come from my idea of what a bride looks like, it doesn’t come from trying to counteract the broken
homes I grew up seeing, it doesn’t come from me striving in my own strength, it doesn’t come from social media
posts—it comes from the Spirit of the Lord.
In Proverbs 31:10, King Lemuel recites his mother’s question, “who can find a virtuous woman?”
Is she hidden? Not physically, but hidden in plain sight, in the cleft of the rock, under the shadow of the
Almighty, in the secret place of the Most High. She probably wasn’t virtuous when she went in, but time in the
bosom of her Beloved, beholding His beauty completely transforms her.
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, after 40 days & nights with God, his skin on his face was shining!
So much so, that he would put a veil on while speaking to the Isrealites, but he would take it off when in the
Presence of the Most High. [Exodus 34]
“Who can find a virtuous woman?” I’m sure she’s not attractive to the world, she veiled to the carnal-minded, to
the ones whose scales have yet to be removed, but she’s shining behind the veil.
And he that finds that wife, that bride, finds a good thing! [Proverbs 18:22] That goodness comes from the
Spirit of the Lord.
Your bride is valued—priced far above rubies; above everything we call precious and beautiful.
You can trust her with Your heart, Your desires, Your yoke and your burden.
You can trust her to love what You love and hate what You hate.
You don’t lack in gain getting what you came and paid for, receiving the reward of Your suffering.
Your bride does You good, not evil, every day of her life, all is for Your glory and Name.
Your bride is resourceful, thoughtful, considerate and serves willingly with her hands, instead of tearing down
her home—Your kingdom, with those same hands.
She’s willing to rise when others are sleeping, when it’s uncomfortable and inconvenient; she prepares substance
for her house received from Your hand, and she doesn’t keep it to herself.
Before buying, she acknowledges You, what you produce in her she plants in others.
She girds herself with Your strength and she judges with Your wisdom.
Her flame is always burning, even in the night.
She’s detailed, diligent and devoted, which overflows to the needy.
She’s fearless and fervent. She's intentional about her appearance as a reflection of You. Smooth as silk, assured
of her royal inheritance.
You are made known to those she’s connected to, regardless of status or position; You’re too good to be quiet
about, too beautiful for her soul not to boast.
She creates, she sells, she delivers; whatever needs to be done for the sake of Your glory!
She wears Your strength and honor as clothing, and she’s always ready to rejoice ahead of time.
She has wisdom in her mouth, and kindness on her tongue—I imagine from kisses with You.
She doesn’t indulge in idleness, realizing the value of every moment as You redeem the time.
She looks well to the ways of her household, how her home flows and operates.
The fruit of intimacy with You will testify of her blessedness, You bless her.
Your bride excels all the virtue of other brides, those who have other lovers.
Favor–apart from You, is deceitful. Beauty–outside of You, is vain, but Your bride, who passionately reveres,
honors and adores her Lord, is worth praising. [Proverbs 31]
All this is done in faith, without it, it’s impossible to please You.
Oh Lord, would You teach me in this way; the way of wifehood as unto You, my Bridegroom King.
In the beautiful name of Jesus Christ, amen.
