Interviewer’s Voice: Good Morning please seatdown (Film isa isa sa pagupo)
Interviewer:Please Introduce Yourself

Neer: Hi My name is Dear Marieneer Bayawak, 25 years of age

Interviewer Voice: So why are you applying in this company?

*Cam on Englebert-englebert will answer*

Englebert: Nag-aapply ako sa kumpanyang ito dahil gusto kong magamit ang aking engineering skills at
ma-improve pa ang aking abilities sa field. Nakikita ko na dito ko mapapabuti ang aking skills at
magbibigay ako ng valuable contributions sa industry.

Interviewer’s Voice: And why do you think we should hire you Mr.?

Genesis: I believe you should hire me because I have a strong passion and dedication for the field of
engineering. It's important for me to provide valuable contributions to the industry and showcase my
skills through the projects we will be working on. And with all due respect, I prefer to be called Engr.
Rather than Mr thank you so much

Interviewer: And how will you blance your family responsibilities?

Marieneer: (Feels uncomfortable) I appreciate the question, and I want to be transparent about my
priorities. I am single and yes my family is my top priority, but I'm also committed to doing excellent
work. I believe that with open communication and support from my team, we can find a way to balance
both my work and family responsibilities (Malalim na hinga)

*FADE OUT*

Scene 3

After few months

Tim: Why Ms. Marieneer

Legine: Okay everyone let’s work together para matapos natin ito before deadlie

Genesis: Yes, if you have suggestions or opinions just shared it with us.

*Camera on the door, papasok sila Tim, Ally at team*

ALL:CONGRTULATIONS! (Focus sa tarpaperl:Congratulation Engr Tim,Marineer and Team)

Boss 1: Congratulations Engr Tim and team, you did a great job…..

*Cam kay Neer*

Boss 1: I am really right to choose you guys to be the lead engineer to this project.

(Neer face turn sad- Englebert comfort her)

Boss 2: Congratulation Engr. Genesis and Engr Mariae! I am really right for assigning both of you in this
project.

Genesis: Thank you Engr

Englebert: Gen kakain na

Genesis: Wala akong gana

(Uupo siya sa katabi ni Genesis, and he will comfort him.-Cam zoom out)

Scene 7-Awarding ceremony

After A year

Co worker 1: Grabe iba ka talaga Gen, parang last year lang kakapasok mo lang sa firm pero ngayon
tatanggap ka na agad ng Edison Award

Gen: Oo nga eh pati ako hindi pa din makapaniwala…. btw guys I will just go to the restroom

(While walking towards the restroom, Gen saw Neer old boss with a female engineer)

Boss ni Neer: Mabuti talaga binigay ko nalang itong project sa lalaki eh, look what happen now. Do you
still call yourself engineer huh woman?”

(Gen wants to interrupt but he didn’t have the guts, he just close his fist while looking disgust to the
boss, later on papasok siya ng restroom at paglabas niya ay mapapabuntong hininga siya)

Host: And now the long wait is over, for the next award here is Engr. Vincent Luna to announce the
winner.
Boss 1: Thank you, to honor his excellence in terms of innovation, this year Edison Awardee is none
other than….. Engr. Genesis Bayawak

(Lahat ng tao ay papalakpak habang nakatingin kay genesis na paakyat ng stage-Cam on his back)

(Pagakyat ng stage ay masama itong nakatingin sa dating boss ni neer, gen took his award and when he
shook his hande you can see disgust to his face)

Genesis: Ahh I would like to thank the foundation for this award.

*Cam on his back while sobbing*

Geneses: I’m sorry, I know that I am here to receive the award and I am so thankful for that. But
pakiramdam ko kailangan kong sabihin ito

I stand before you today to address a critical issue that affects not just our field of engineering, but
society as a whole: and what is that gender discrimination indeed. It is no secret that the engineering
industry is male-dominated, and as a result, women often face systemic barriers that prevent them from
thriving and succeeding in this field.
Last year my sister died due of accident. She died belittling herself dahil sa diskriminasyong naramdaman
niya mula sa pinapasukan niyang kumpanyta. Please pakinggan niyo nawa ako, a one way to combat
gender discrimination in engineering is by using gender fair language. IT is a language that avoids gender
bias and is inclusive of all genders. Sa ibang kumpanya ay ginagamit na ito katulad ng pinapasukan ko. Sa
lahat ng nakakaranas ng naranasan ng kapatid, please stood for yourself magsalita kayo.

Tim: Why Ms. Marieneer ‘Gen: Don’t let them belittle, an make you feel down’

Neer: "Excuse me, I'm not comfortable with the use of that phrase. I think it creates an unwelcoming and
hostile environment for women in the workplace."

Tim "What are you talking about? It's just a figure of speech. I didn't mean anything by it."
Neer: "I understand that you didn't mean anything by it, but the phrase 'man up' implies that only men
are capable of working hard and being tough. It excludes and marginalizes women in the workplace."

However, gender fair language is not just about avoiding pronouns that indicate gender. It is also about
recognizing the important contributions that women and other underrepresented groups have made to
the engineering field. It is about using language that acknowledges their accomplishments and avoids
language that reinforces stereotypes or undermines their work. Stand up guys, stand for yourself
alalahanin niyo bago kayo tanggapin at respetuhun ng ibang tao, you need to respect and accept yourself
first. After that we can have the power to make a difference, and it starts with ourselves.

I came to the realization that I was born intersex. This means that I have both male and female physical
characteristics. Napakahirap niya kasi hindi ko alam kung ano ba talaga ako, at katulad ng kapatid kong si
Marieneer naranasan ko nang maliitin sa dating kumpanyang pinapasukan ko na lalong nagpahirap sa
mga nararamdaman ko. After noon pinangako ko na wala na akong pagsasabihan about sa totoong ako
sa paglipat ko ng trabaho. At kapalit ng pananahimik ko ay hindi ko na pala nagawang ipagtanggol ang
kapatid kong si Marieneer. Gen’s right, its time for us to speak out. (He will walk towads stage while
talking)

Jacob: I’m a transgender engineer! (Joseph will also stand and held jacob’s shoulder, Jacob will smile)

Suzette: I’m proud to be lesbian engineer

Genesis: Thank you guys, I know that using this gender fair language is just small step but these small
changes in language can have a big impact on how employees feel valued and respected in the
workplace. Thank you everyone
