Activity Type Introduction


Matching and speaking In this challenging adverbs of manner board game, students
activity, group work make adverb-verb collocations and then use the collocations in
sentences.

Language Focus Procedure


Adverbs of manner
To begin, ask the class to call out verbs and write them on the
Adverb-Verb collocations board. Then, elicit an adverb that collocates with each verb, e.g.
(deeply) regret, (strongly) believe, etc.
