STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
I am, musa idris, a graduate in the Department of computer science, yobe state University,
damaturu (YSU), yobe state, Nigeria. I hold a BSc. Degree in computer science where I
graduated with a second- Class upper (CGPA;3.75/5.00-70%) and won the academic
prize/award of; the department Prize for the most hardworking student in Department of
computer science, YSU (2019).
I have a strong ambition to be part of IT innovators and explorers in Nigeria. If I am
opportune by this scholarship award; it will help me meet my desired goals, improve skills,
enrich knowledge, get more qualification and experiences. It will also benefit the Nigeria
economy.
I choose and pursued undergraduate studies in computer science. I have developed a strong
background in computer programming, data structure, algorithm design and mathematics.
I did my internship at the Yobe State University ICT center, which improved my theoretical
foundation, deepened my understanding and interest in the computing field. I am
enthusiastic about learning a new thing, apart from classwork, I spared time to learn new
things from online classes. I led several groups in our class and accomplished tasks,
especially in software development and network design. During my undergraduate studies,
I won a programming contest which gave me a chance to be nominated as a programming
class tutor to level 100 undergraduate student.
I have an interest to pursue my postgraduate studies in the field of computer science
stemming from the knowledge gained during my undergraduate years.
There are several reasons why I want to pursue a postgraduate course in science. Firstly
because, I would be able to achieve the peak of academic excellence when I further my
education in science. Secondly, I plan to pursue a Master Degree in the field of computer
science, specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IT. I want to study in the German,
france and malaysia because is a crucial player in the world of AI and IT. I am hoping to
gain much experience to work on my research thesis. My graduate research thesis will
focus on solving a problem related to the oil and gas industry,
During my undergraduate years, I carried out a research project which in evolved the
enhance network performance using cache configuration. This research has helped me to
see that with the use of network device, like routers cable,switch and etc
In conclusion, upon completion of studies, I will return to Nigeria to apply skills and
experiences acquired to the oil and gas industry and pass knowledge to upcoming
generation via teaching to increase productivity and burst economy at large.
