Key Features

ASMPH is the first to offer a dual degree program in the Philippines, and perhaps in Southeast Asia,
through a five-year integrated MD and MBA Program. The Dual Degrees are the vehicle through which
the school forms Outstanding Physicians, Dynamic Leaders and Social Catalysts. The integrated
curriculum hopes to inculcate to the students the core values of the school.

Clinical and Community Placements

The school collaborates with various health and

medical institutions. The Medical City Hospital in
Pasig is the base hospital for the clinical
rotations, with the Ospital ng Makati serving as
a major rotation hospital. The school also has an
existing partnership with the following tertiary
medical centers of the Department of Health:
Quirino Memorial Medical Center, Philippine
Children’s Medical Center, Rizal Medical Center,
East Avenue Medical Center, and Philippine
Orthopedic Center. In addition, the school also works with two large ambulatory care
networks, the Healthway Clinics and the TMC Proser Health Services. All of these settings
provide expansive experience for the clinical exposure of the students to a wide variety of
primary, secondary and tertiary cases.

The ASMPH also has established partnerships with multiple

non-governmental organizations that serve poor and
disadvantaged communities. Through these partners,
students learn about the health of communities and
populations enabling them to apply knowledge and skills in
public health and management. At present, there are also
formal collaborative agreements with the local
governments of Pasig, Quezon City and Antipolo to
implement curricular programs in urban poor communities.

Location and Facilities

The Ateneo de Manila University School of Medicine and Public Health Campus is located at
the Don Eugenio Lopez Medical Complex in Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City, Philippines. The
campus is adjacent to its base hospital, The Medical City,

The University ensures that the medical school has adequate, conducive, up-to-date, well-
maintained, and safe facilities to support the functions of teaching, research, and community
service.

There are three plenary classrooms - Chung Te Auditorium, Multipurpose Hall and the 5th
Floor Plenary Room. There are 2 big and small laboratories at the 2nd and 3rd floors of the
campus. Other classrooms are located on the 4th floor. Each of the classrooms are equipped
with audiovisual equipment such as laptop/desktop, projector, and microphones. All of the
classrooms in the campus are air-conditioned except for the anatomy laboratory.

The ASMPH Laboratories were designed in accordance with the Commission of Higher
Education Memorandum Order No. 18 Series of 2016 - Article VI Required Resources Section
15,2. The ASMPH Laboratories have the necessary equipment to achieve the desired program
outcomes based on the presented syllabi and projected activities. There are adequate facilities
for the students to achieve the skills and competencies for specific learning objectives.

The laboratories are located on the second,

third and fourth floors of ASMPH. Second
floor laboratories consist of four (4) smaller
laboratories with maximum capacities of
twenty-five (25) students (pre-pandemic)
for each small laboratory and one (1) bigger
laboratory with a maximum capacity of one
hundred (100) students (pre-pandemic). YL
6 Microbiology, Parasitology and Pathology
laboratory activities are conducted on this
floor. The third floor laboratories have an
identical set-up and capacities like that of
the second floor laboratories. YL 5 Histology
and Integrated Laboratory sessions are conducted on this floor.

PROGRAM SPECIFICATION

The ASMPH expanded its Simulation Education to
complement the limited face-to-face rotations
brought about by the Covid-19 Pandemic. It acquired
additional equipment and simulation models to
develop the clinical and decision making skills of the
students.

The OB-Gyne Simulation Labs are located on the

west wing of the 3rd floor where YL 8 and YL 9
students learn with perinatal patient care
simulators prior to exposure to actual patients.
Lastly, the Anatomy Laboratory and Anatomy
Preparation rooms are located on the fourth
floor.

The library, located at the 4th and 5th floors of the building, is fully air-conditioned and
equipped with computers, discussion rooms and even a nap area (Pugad Idlipan). The medical
library is also fully enabled for self-directed learning with top-of-line technology-based
references available online and remotely.

Assessment, Feedback and Standards

ASMPH uses a combination of formative and summative assessments. Among the methods
employed are the following:
a. Short Quizzes and Long Exam Exams during the module
b. ModulFinal Exam Exams given at the end of the module
