Software Developer (Java)

Job Outline
As a Software Developer, you will join our Engineering team focused on server-side systems, including
integrating APIs, processing large datasets and implementing bespoke functionality. The successful
candidate will be experienced with real-time data processing and optimization, take a cautious approach
towards data integrity, enjoy working as part of a team, and thrive from seeing the results of their work
safely deployed into production environments.

Responsibilities:
• Ownership of key server processes and services

• Deployment and upkeep of relevant services

• Ensuring low-debt, defensive, and secure solutions

Desired qualifications, skills and experience:


• Experience optimizing SQL/MySQL queries is essential

• Comfortable writing Java or C++ is essential

• Experience managing deployments to production environments is essential

• Experience monitoring cloud-based services and data is essential

• API integration experience is essential

• Familiarity with different approaches to ETL processes is essential

• Experience configuring cloud services is beneficial

• Knowledge of service-oriented architecture is beneficial

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kube) is beneficial

• Familiarity with building unit and regression tests is beneficial
