Narrator 3: My dear friend can I ask you something?
Narrator 2: Uhmmm….Yes of course?
Narrator 3: Is that gold can grow?
Narrator 2: No, how can gold can grow?
Narrator 3: Then, what else can grow?
Narrator 2: Emmm…. Tree, human, animal and the living things.
Narrator 3: Good, but now you are going to listen to a story about growing gold.
Narrator 2: Growing Gold.
Yes. Let’s start.
Narrator 1: Once upon a time, in a little village that lay in the midst of high hills and far-
flung fields.
Narrator 2: There lived a poor old father with his two lazy sons. The poor farmer owned
a little piece of land in front of his house and he worked hard all day in it.
Narrator 1: Meanwhile, his sons were lazily dreaming about luxuries and gold.
Ragu: Oh my goodness, what a wonderful dream I had so much of gold around me
emmmm…..
Narrator 1: And another son was singing and dancing.
Raju: Money, money I have so much money…..
Narrator 2: One day….
Old man: Oh, the laziness of my sons, it’s been keeping me up at nights! After me,
(father) they might end up helpless. Oh, God. Please, please help me.
Narrator 1: The old man said to himself. And, suddenly he got an idea.
Old man: Umm.., this should work. Yes. Hey, sons! I know you’re fond of gold. Don’t
(father) you?
Raju: That’s a foolish question father.
Ragu: Who wouldn’t like gold?
Old man: Yes. Yes, I knew. That’s why I’m here. I’ve buried a large pot of gold, in
our field, a long ago. So, before I die, I wanted to hand it over to you.
Raju: Is that for real.
Ragu: A large pot of gold.
Raju: How deep is it?
Ragu: Where is it exactly?
Old man: Oh, Poor children, please forgive this old man, for I don’t remember the
place. You have to plough the whole land for the gold.
(Rooster crowing, birds chirping, cows mooing)
Narrator 2: The next day, the sons, began to plough the field, solely.
Narrator 1: And by the end of the day.
Raju: Oh, father, we’ve ploughed the whole land we’ve tired.
Ragu: The gold must have been buried low, for the plough to reach.
Old man: Don’t worry son, I will tell you a solution tomorrow okay.
Narrator 2: The next day the old man asked his children to sow seeds in the field.
Old man: These seeds will stretch their strong roots to the gold, and you can pull it out,
easily.
Narrator 1: So did the sons. And, they got disappointed as the crops didn’t shoot up.
Old man: Seeds have to be watered regularly, for them to grow.
Raju: Anything, for the gold father.
Narrator 2: But, the next day, things began to be different.
Narrator 1: The sons of the old man started loving what they were doing.
Old man: My dear sons, it’s time for lunch. Come! Come! Come!
Ragu: Yes, father we are very hungry. We are coming.
Narrator 2: While eating….
Raju: Father the smell of the wet mud! It’s very pleasant.
Narrator 1: They worked every single day, till the harvest. And they were so happy to
see the grown crops.
Old man: Sons, this is the gold I was telling you. The growing gold. With this gold,
you not only feed yourself but millions and millions of lives.
Narrator 2: The sons realized their fault and they were so happy to become a farmer.
Ragu: I’m so happy now.
Raju: Me too.
Ragu: So, long we had missed the real happiness in our lives.
Raju: Now, I realized happiness is working hard and helping others.
Old man: Yes, both of you have learnt a good lesson. Don’t be lazy. Without hard
work there is no success.
Narrator 3 Hai, friends are you enjoyed the story. Yes, off course. The story is awesome
right. Emm….., well. My dear friends what you had learn from the story.
Let’s listen to the summary of Growing Gold story is about a struggling
farmer who work very hard each day in order to grow their food and support
their family. Unfortunately, their two sons are very lazy and do not help their
parents at all. The boys just sit and dream about gold all day as the father
who is old struggle alone.
Frustrated, father at last devises a plan to get his sons to appreciate the value
and reward of hard work. He tells his sons about the gold buried under the
ground in their fields and that they must work the fields in order to pull the
gold up from the ground. His story works as his sons learn about the value of
hard work when they are rewarded with a field of gold.
This story is about a father and son will teach pupils about the importance of
resourcefulness, respect and responsibility. Haaa.. friends the story also
shows us about valuable life lessons about character, respect, taking
responsibility and the value of hard work. ... The clever father teaches her
