everyone stood up. Then the team’s mascot,
a furry seal, helped the audience sing
“Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”

everybody cheered, and a foghorn made a loud sound.
“Now what happened?” asked Tex.
“Our team hit a home run!” Mom grinned.
“I like it when our team is winning,” said Indi.
“It’s nice,” said Dad. “But win or lose, a day at the
ballpark is always a blast!”

As they turned to walk home, Bebo said, “I wish I could
fly like an airplane.”
“Yo puedo ayudar,” said Juan. He asked Bebo to hold on
to his feet. Then Juan flapped his wings, and they both
hovered in the air for a few seconds.
“You helped me fly! Thanks, Juan!” said Bebo.

This woodpecker flew into a window and
couldn’t walk. Debra helps him get stronger.

At Debra’s house, you might meet
a skunk, an opossum, a woodpecker,
rabbits, or other animals.
This baby skunk lost its mother.
Soon it will be big enough to live
on its own in the woods.
These animals were
all injured or separated
from their mothers.

Each morning and evening,
Debra feeds all the animals.
She spends lots of
time preparing food
and cleaning up.

Mini Blueberry

You Need Before You Beg in
• 1 package of 6 mini
Wash your hands.
graham cracker pie crusts
• 1 teaspoon flour Adult: Preheat the oven
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar to 350 °F.
• 1 tablespoon orange juice
• 1 cup fresh or
frozen blueberries
Topping
• 2 tablespoons
old-fashioned oats
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon melted butter
2. Combine 1 teaspoon flour,
1. Place pie crusts on 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and
a baking sheet. orange juice. Mix until flour is
dissolved.
3. Add in blueberries. 4. Spoon the blueberry 5. Mix the topping ingredients
Stir to coat well. mixture into the pie crusts. together in a small bowl.
6. Put a spoonful of
topping onto each mini pie.
7. Adult: Bake the mini pies for 20–25
minutes or until topping is lightly browned.
Cool for 5–10 minutes before eating.
