Human Sexuality Discussion Pt. 5&6
Part 5
1. The decision to have children is monumental. Do you plan to have children?
I do intend to have children in the future. I aim to have two or three children. I recognize
that the choice to have children is a life-changing one. I've given it a lot of consideration
and decided that creating a family and raising children is something I want to accomplish
in my life. I understand it will be a significant responsibility and require enormous effort,
but I am eager to take on the task. I also know it will offer me a lot of happiness and
contentment. I've always wanted to be a mother, and I'm excited about starting a family
and seeing my children grow and develop. I also recognize that as a mother, I will have to
make sacrifices and compromise on some issues, but I am prepared to go to whatever
length to give my children the most incredible life possible.
2. Childbirth is frequently unplanned, or decisions about having children change with age or
relationships. Construct a "parenthood timeline." Based on lecture and text materials,
have calculate how many remaining years of fertility you have (for males have them
calculate fertile years in which they would like to have a baby).
As a [ _ ]-year-old woman, I would like my "parenthood timeline" to be as follows:
Age [ _ ]-25: Focus on finishing education and establishing a career
Age 26-30: Start a family, have my first child
Age 31-35: Have a second child
Age 36-40: Have a third child (if desired and if the circumstances will allow)
Based on this timeline, I would have approximately __ remaining years of fertility (from
age __ to age 36) in which I could have children.
3
3. What developmental milestones you would like to complete before having a baby (e.g.,
buying a car or a house).
Before having a kid, I'd want to concentrate on completing specific personal and financial
goals to help offer my child a secure and pleasant environment. Purchasing a vehicle and
a house would be a significant step toward reaching this objective since it would provide
us with a safe and secure place to live. Additionally, I would want to ensure that I have a
solid and supportive profession to provide financially for my family. Furthermore, I
would want to concentrate on establishing a solid and healthy connection with my spouse
before having a kid.
4. How short or long a time do you have to become parents? Are your expectations realistic
given biological constraints on female fertility?
As stated earlier, I have approximately __ years to become a parent. I recognize the
biological restrictions on female fertility and the significance of timing regarding having
children. While I may have an idea of when I want to start a family, I also recognize that
life does not often go as planned. I am aware that my fertility may drop with age. I also
know that if I cannot conceive naturally, I may need to explore alternatives such as
assisted reproductive technology (Hart, 2016). Nevertheless, I am realistic regarding the
possibility that these alternatives may fail and may be unable to become parents. I am
prepared to explore all possibilities and change our expectations as required.
Part 6
1. How has Internet dating changed the way people connect and meet?
4
Individuals may utilize internet platforms to look for and engage with persons with
similar interests and preferences, making connecting and meeting possible mates simpler
(CONSUMER RANKINGS, 2023). However, it has also resulted in a culture of
superficiality and, in certain situations, a lack of dedication.
2. What are the pros and cons to forging new relationships in this manner?
The opportunity to search for a bigger pool of possible companions, the capacity to sort
out prospective partners based on particular criteria, and the capacity to connect with
individuals who may be geographically distant are some advantages of online dating.
Some disadvantages include the possibility of deceit and the chance of meeting someone
who is not who they claim to be.
3. What are online dating safety tips.
Some online dating tips include:
a. Never give out personal information such as your last name, address, or phone
number unless you are sure the individual is trustworthy.
b. On the first date, meet in a public spot.
c. Having faith in your intuition and being suspicious of anybody who appears to be
too fantastic to be true
d. Informing a family member or friend of your plans and who you will meet.
e. Conducting a background check on the individual with whom you are meeting.
4. Would you consider it "cheating" if your mate spent a great deal of time in an online chat
room?
Suppose my mate spends significant time in an online chat room. In that case, I could
consider it emotional infidelity if they get emotionally attached to the people they meet in
5
the chat room. I'll ensure to communicate openly and honestly with my spouse regarding
what is appropriate or inappropriate in our relationship.
