Basics of HTML
HTML is the standard markup language for Web pages. With HTML
one can create websites and web pages.
The Hypertext Markup Language or HTML is the standard markup
language for documents designed to be displayed in a web browser.
It can be assisted by technologies such as Cascading Style Sheets
(CSS) and scripting languages such as JavaScript.

Why HTML ?
HTML — “HyperText Markup Language” — is the language used to
tell your web browser what each part of a website is. So, using
HTML, you can define headers, paragraphs, links, images, and more,
so your browser knows how to structure the web page you’re
looking at.
Current HTML version is HTML5. (Video, Audio and Animations)
HTML is not case sensitive.

Example Explained
The <!DOCTYPE html> declaration defines that this document is an
HTML5 document
The <html> element is the root element of an HTML page
The <head> element contains meta information about the HTML
page
The <title> element specifies a title for the HTML page (which is
shown in the browser's title bar or in the page's tab)
The <body> element defines the document's body, and is a
container for all the visible contents, such as headings,
paragraphs, images, hyperlinks, tables, lists, etc.
The <h1> element defines a large heading
The <p> element defines a paragraph
