General layout:
This guide highlights a script that integrates the KeyLab Essential
into Logic Pro.

In order to use Logic Pro script for KeyLab Essential, you have to download
the script from Arturia website and install it.
- Go to [Link]
- Download the scripts corresponding to your DAW
- Extract the folder and execute the .dmg
- Double click on the application to install the scripts (a pop-up should notify you)
If you cannot install it via the application, place the file named
“KL Essential [Link]” at the end of this path:
MacOS: `/<username>/Music/Audio Music Apps/MIDI Device Profiles/Arturia
- Connect your KeyLab Essential and select DAW program (Prog button)
- Open Logic Pro
- The KeyLab Essential should automatically be detected and ready to use.
If the KeyLab Essential is not detected:
- In Logic Pro, select Control Surface then go to the Setup… and create a new one.
- Select Install… You should be able to select the KeyLab Essential as it
appears in the list.
- Make sure the Input and Output port are correct (as on the image below) 2
Do not forget to disable the KeyLab Essential mk3 MCU/HUI / KeyLab Essential mk3 DIN THRU /
KeyLab Essential mk3 ALV port in the MIDI section of the Preferences menu, otherwise it
is possible that you will hear some pops and notes when using the Transport function.
Your controller is now ready to use with Logic Pro.

Transport and DAW Command Center:
Main encoder:
Navigate in the tracks
Main encoder click:
Show/Close the selected plugin
Knobs 1 → 8 and faders 1 → 8:
Control some parameters of the current focused plugin (Device)
Control the volume and the pan of the corresponding track (Mixer)

Knob 9 and fader 9:
Control the volume and the pan of the selected track
Contextual buttons:
- Contextual 1
Toggle between Device and Mixer control
- Contextual 3
Mute selected track
- Contextual 4
Solo selected track
Pads:
Pressing the pads will triggers sounds
Analog Lab Mode:
If you are using Analog Lab, make sure you link the correct device when you open
the plugin:
You can enter Analog Lab Mode to have perfect control over Analog Lab by selecting the
Arturia program (Prog button).
When Analog Lab is selected, you can manage the plugin as you would do in standalone
(Navigation, selection and FX).
