Description: Statistics in Education
Rationale: Educational Statistics is an introductory graduate course in using quantitative
methods for inquiry in the social and behavioral sciences. Students will be exposed
to the fundamental concepts and procedures of descriptive and inferential statistics.
Students will develop competence in reading and understanding statistics topics
from sources such as texts, dissertations, journals, or technical reports.
Course Description: It is a three (3)-unit course which focuses on the various Statistical
Methods in Education which exposed students to fundamental concepts and
procedures of descriptive and inferential statistics.
Program Learning Outcomes: An individual who completes a master’s degree in education
can demonstrate:
a. In-depth understanding of the various Methods of Educational Statistics which
are used in Educational Research.
b. A higher order level of skill in the analysis, critical assessment, and application
and communication of knowledge in the field.
c. An ability to apply knowledge and skills in the field to new situations in more
creative and flexible ways, and to solve complex problems in the field in ways
that involve rigorous thinking and independent work.
