Cell Theory and Cell Comparison

The Cell Theory is important in modern biology because it explains concepts that underlie most biological studies. Understanding cells and their functions leads to new ideas in science. Cells are the basic unit of structure and function in living things. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells share some similarities but also have key differences. Both contain DNA and are surrounded by membranes, but prokaryotes are smaller and lack organelles while eukaryotes have membrane-bound organelles like the nucleus. Examples of prokaryotes are bacteria and examples of eukaryotes are plants and animals. Plant and animal cells share structures like the plasma membrane and mitochondria but differ in other structures. Plant cells have cell walls

EVALUATION

1. What do you think is the importance of the Cell Theory in the Modern Biology?
 Concepts included in the Cell theory is what covers most of the studies in Biology. Throughout
understanding the cell theory leads the modern biology to new invented ideas and concepts that
will be beneficial with the continuous works of Science. A cell itself plays a major role in every
individual and living things that lives in this planet, which makes sense that cell theory constitutes
to our understanding of where could life begin at or what makes a human body performs his
functions.

IV. Cite some activities in a particular place or thing that are analogous to the
function of the following cell structures. Explain your analogy.
1. Plasma Membrane - Roof > just like a plasma membrane which serves as the
coverage of the cell as also the roof which keeps the rain from entering the house.
2. Nucleus - President > as nucleus serves us the control center of the cell , as well
as the President whom take control of everything in one country.
3. Mitochondria -
