and the captain has offered to carry letters from the colonists.
Write a letter to a friend or relative who still lives in England. Your letter should follow the
correct format for a friendly letter and should include these elements:
Explanation of why you came to Jamestown
Description of the colony and its surroundings
Hardships or challenges the colonists have faced
Ways in which the colony has overcome the hardships or challenges
Advice to help you friend or relative decide whether to move to Jamestown. You may
recommend coming and give reasons; recommend staying in England and give reasons;
leave the decision open or list factors on both sides that you friend or relative should
consider in making the decision.
