1.1.1 Live And Let Die
When you were young and your heart
Was an open book
You used to say live and let live
(You know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But if this ever changin' world
In which we're livin'
Makes you give in and cry
Say live and let die
Live and let die
Live and let die
Live and let die
Instrumental
What did it matter to ya
When you got a job to do you got to do it well
You got to give the other fella hell
Instrumental
You used to say live and let live
(You know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But if this ever changin' world
In which we're livin'
Makes you give in and cry
Say live and let die

Ghostbusters!
If there's something strange
In your neighborhood
Who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters!
If there's something weird
And it don't look good
Who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters!
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
If you're seeing things
Running through your head
Who can you call?
Ghostbusters!
An invisible man
Sleepin' in your bed
Ow, who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters!
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
Who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters!
If you're all alone
Pick up the phone
And call
Ghostbusters!
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!

1.1.3 My Favourite Things
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that y with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snow akes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver-white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings

1.1.4 Cheek To Cheek
Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
And I seem to nd the happiness I seek,
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.
Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And the cares that hung around me through the week,
Seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak,
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.
Oh, I love to climb a mountain,
And to reach the highest peak.
But it doesn't thrill me half as much
As dancing cheek to cheek.
Oh, I love to go out shing
In a river or a creek.
But I don't enjoy it half as much
As dancing cheek to cheek.
Dance with me! I want my arms about you.
The charms about you
Will carry me through to...
Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
And I seem to nd the happiness I seek,
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.

1.1.6 Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend
The French are glad to die for love
They delight in ghting duels
But I prefer a man who lives
And gives expensive jewels
A kiss on the hand
May be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
A kiss may be grand
But it won't pay the rental
On your humble at or help you at the automat
Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our charms in the end
But square-cut or pear-shaped
These rocks don't lose their shape
Diamonds are a girl's best friend
There may come a time
When a lass needs a lawyer
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
There may come a time
When a hard-boiled employer

Do, do do do do do, do do, do.
De de de de de de, de de, de de, de de de.
And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
We'd like to know a little bit about you for our les
We'd like to help you learn to help yourself
Look around you, all you see are sympathetic eyes
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home
And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes
Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes
It's a little secret, just the Robinson's affair
Most of all, you've got to hide it from the kids
Coo, coo, ca-choo, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray

Ba-ba-da-ba, da-ba-da-ba
Ba-ba-da-ba, da-ba-da-ba
Ba-ba-da-ba, da-ba-da-ba
Ba-ba-ba-ba
I think about that day
I left him at a Greyhound station
West of Santa Fé
We were seventeen, but he was sweet and it was true
Still I did what I had to do
'Cause I just knew
Summer Sunday nights
We'd sink into our seats
Right as they dimmed out all the lights
A Technicolor world made out of music and machine
It called me to be on that screen
And live inside each scene
Without a nickel to my name
Hopped a bus, here I came
Could be brave or just insane
We'll have to see
'Cause maybe in that sleepy town
He'll sit one day, the lights are down
He'll see my face and think of how
He used to know me
Climb these hills
I'm reaching for the heights
And chasing all the lights that shine (lights that shine)
And when they let you down (it's another day of)
You'll get up off the ground (it's another day of)
'Cause morning rolls around
And it's another day of sun
Instrumental
And when they let you down
The morning rolls around
It's another day of sun (oh)
It's another day of sun (oh)
It's another day of sun (sun, sun, sun, sun)
It's another day of sun (oh)

Yeah, you've got a friend in me
Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
Maybe
But none of them will ever love you
The way I do
It's me and you, boy
And as the years go by
Our friendship will never die

So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin',
Singin' in the rain
Dancin' in the rain
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
I'm happy again!
I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain!

1.4.4 Rain On Me
I didn't ask for a free ride
I only asked you to show me a real good time
I never asked for the rainfall
At least I showed up, you showed me nothing at all
It's coming down on me
Water like misery
It's coming down on me
I'm ready, rain on me
I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive
Rain on me, rain, rain
Rain on me, rain, rain
I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive
Rain on me, rain, rain
Rain on me
Rain on me
Livin' in a world where no one's innocent
Oh, but at least we try, mmh
Gotta live my truth, not keep it bottled in
So I don't lose my mind, baby, yeah
I can feel it on my skin (It's coming down on me)
Teardrops on my face (Water like misery)
Let it wash away my sins (It's coming down on me)
Let it wash away, yeah
I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive
Rain on me, rain, rain
Rain on me, rain, rain
I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive
Rain on me, rain, rain
Rain (Rain) on (On) me
Rain on me

1.4.5 Seasons In The Sun
Goodbye to you, my trusted friend
But we've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together, we've climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and ABC's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees
Goodbye, my friend, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time
Goodbye, papa, please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along
Goodbye, papa, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little children everywhere
When you see them, I'll be there
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone
Yeah, yeah, yeah
1.4.6 Mr Blue Sky
Sun is shinin' in the sky

1.6.1 Jacob and Sons
[Narrator]
Way way back many centuries ago,
Not long after the Bible began
Jacob lived in the land of Canaan,
A ne example of a family man.
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Depended on farming to earn their keep.
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Spent all of his days in the elds with sheep.
Jacob was the founder of a whole new nation
Thanks to the number of children he had
He was also known as Israel, but most of the time
His sons and his wives used to call him Dad.
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Men of the soil, of the sheaf and crook
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
A remarkable family in anyone's book.
[Narrator, Brothers, Ensemble]
Reuben was the eldest of the children of Israel
With Simeon and Levi the next in line
Naphtali and Isaachar with Asher and Dan
Zebulun and Gad took the total to nine
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Benjamin and Judah, which leaves only one
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Joseph - Jacob's favorite son

1.6.2 Josephs Coat
[Jacob]
Joseph's mother, she was quite my favourite wife
I never really loved another all my life
And Joseph was my joy because
He reminded me of her
[Narrator]
Through young Joseph, Jacob lived his youth again
1 24

Loved him, praised him, gave him all he could, but then
It made the rest feel second best
And even if they were -
[Brothers]
Being told we're also-rans
Does not makes us Joseph fans
[Narrator]
But where they had really missed the boat is
[Brothers]
We're great guys but no-one seems to notice
[Narrator]
Joseph's charm and winning smile
Failed to slay them in the aisle
And their father couldn't see the danger
He could not imagine any danger
He just saw in Joseph all his dreams come true
Jacob wanted to show the world he loved his son
To make it clear that Joseph was the special one
So Jacob bought his son a coat
A multi-coloured coat to wear
[Narrator]
And when Joseph tried it on
He knew his sheepskin days were gone
[Narrator & Ensemble]
Such a dazzling coat of many colours
How he loved his coat of many colour's
[Narrator]
In a class above the rest
It even went well with his vest
Such a stunning coat of many colours
How he loved his coat of many colours
It was red and yellow and green and
Brown and blue
Joseph's brothers weren't
Too pleased with what they saw
[Brothers]
We have never liked him
All that much before
And now this coat
Has got our goat
1 25
We feel life is unfair
[Narrator, Ensemble]
And whe Joseph graced the scene
His brothers turned a shade of green
His astounding clothing took the biscuit
[Brothers]
Quite the smoothest person in the district
[Joseph]
I look handsome, I look smart
I am walking work of art
Such a dazzling coat of colours
How I love my coat of many colours
[Narrator, Joseph, Ensemble]
It was red and yellow and green and brown
And scarlet and black and ochre and peach
And ruby and olive and violet and fawn
And lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve
And cream and crimson and silver and rose
And azure and lemon and russet and grey
And purple and white and pink and orange

1.6.3 Poor Poor Joseph
[Narrator]
Next day, far from home,
The brothers planned the repulsive crime
[Brothers]
Let us grab him now,
Do him in, while we've got the time
[Narrator]
This they did and made the most of it
Tore his coat and ung him in pit
[Brothers]
Let us leave him here,
All alone, and he's bound to die
[Narrator]
When some Ishmaelites,
A hairy crew, came riding by
In a ash the brothers changed their plan

Things look bad for you, hey, what'cha gonna do?
Poor, poor Joseph, what'cha gonna do?
Things look bad for you, hey, what'cha gonna do?
[Narrator]
In a trice the dirty deal was done
Silver coins for Jacob's favorite son
Joseph's brothers tore
His precious multi-colored coat
Having ripped it up,
They next attacked a passing goat
Soon the wretched creature was no more
They dipped his coat in blood and guts and gore
[Narrator, Ensemble]
Oh now brothers, how low can you stoop?
You make a sordid group, hey, how low can you stoop?
Poor, poor Joseph, sold to be a slave
Situation's grave, hey, sold to be a slave
1.6.4 Potiphar
[Narrator]
Joseph was taken to Egypt in chains and sold,
Where he was bought by a captain named by Potiphar
1.6.5 Close Every Door To Me
[Joseph]
Just give me a number
Instead of my name
Forget all about me
And let me decay
I do not matter,
I'm only one person
Destroy me completely
Then throw me away
If my life were important I
Would ask will I live or die
But I know the answers lie
Far from this world

Our own peace of mind
For we have been promised
A land of our own
1.6.6 Poor Poor Pharaoh
[Narrator]
Guess what? In his bed Pharaoh
Had an uneasy night
He had had a dream that pinned him
To his sheets with fright
No-one knew the meaning of the dream
What to do, whatever could it mean?
Then his butler said
[Butler]
I know of a bloke in jail
Who is hot on dreams,
Could explain old Pharaoh's tale
[Narrator]
Pharaoh said
[Pharaoh]
Well fetch this Joseph man
I need him to help me if he can
[Narrator & Ensemble]
Poor, poor Pharaoh,
What'cha gonna do?
Dreams are haunting you, hey,
What'cha gonna do?
1.6.7 Song Of The King
[Pharaoh]

When seven fat cows came up out of the Nile, uh-huh
And right behind these ne healthy animals came
Seve other cows, skinny and vile, uh-huh

Well the thin cows ate the fat cows which I
Thought would do them good, uh-huh
But it didn't make them fatter like such
A monster supper should
Well the thin cows were as thin
As they had ever, ever, ever been
Well this dream has got me baf ed
Hey, Joseph, won't you tell me what it means?
Well you know that kings ain't stupid
But I don't have a clue
So don't be cruel Joseph
Help me I beg of you
Well this dream has got me all shook up
Treat me nice and tell me what it means
Hey, hey, hey Joseph
Won't you tell poor old Pharaoh
What does this crazy dream mean?
Oh yeah
1.6.8 Benjamin Calypso

Oh no - not he
How can you accuse him is a mystery
Save him - take me
Benjamin is straightr than the tall palm tree
[Judah]
I hear the steel drums sing their song
They're singing man you know you've got it wrong
I hear the voice of the yellow bird
Singing in the tree this is quite absurd
Oh yes

1.6.9 Any Dream Will Do
[Joseph]
I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain
To see for certain what I thought I knew
Far far away, someone was weeping
But the world was sleeping
Any dream will do
[Joseph]
I wore my coat, with golden lining
Bright colors shining, wonderful and new
And in the east, the dawn was breaking
And the world was waking
Any dream will do
[Joseph]
A crash of drums, a ash of light
My golden coat ew out of sight
The colors faded into darkness
I was left alone
[Joseph & Children]
May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming, and the dream is too
The world and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do

2.1.1 Oh What A Night (Jersey Boys)
Oh, what a night
Late December back in sixty three
What a very special time for me
As I remember, what a night
Oh, what a night, you know I didn't even know her name
But I was never gonna be the same
What a lady, what a night
Oh, I, I got a funny feelin' when she walked in the room
And my, as I recall it ended much too soon
Oh what a night,
Hypnotizin' mesmerizing me
She was ev'rything I dreamed she'd be
Sweet surrender, what a night
Instrumental
I felt a rush like a rollin' ball of thunder
Spinnin' my head around and takin' my body under
Oh, what a night
Oh, I, I got a funny feelin' when she walked in the room
And my, as I recall it ended much too soon
Oh, what a night
Why'd it take so long to see the light?
Seemed so wrong, but now it seems so right
What a lady, what a night
Oh I felt a rush like a rollin' ball of thunder
Spinnin' my head around and takin' my body under
Oh what a night
Oh what a night
Oh what a night!

2.1.2 Hit me with your best shot (Rock of Ages)
Well you're the real tough cookie with a long history
Of breaking little hearts like the one in me
That's okay, let's see how you do it
Put up you dukes, let's get down to it
Hit me with your best shot
Why don't you hit me with your best shot
Hit me with your best shot
Fire away
You come on with it, come on
You don't ght fair
But that's okay, see if I care
Knock me down, it's all in vain
I get right back on my feet again
Hit me with your best shot
Why don't you hit me with your best shot
Hit me with your best shot
Fire away
Hit me with your best shot
C'mon, hit me with your best shot
Hit me with your best shot

2.1.3 True Colours (Priscilla Queen Of The Desert)
Ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah
You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged, oh I realize
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people, you can lose sight of it all
And darkness still inside you make you feel so small
But I see your true colors shinin' through
I see your true colors and that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show,
Your true colors, true colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow.
Show me a smile then,
Don't be unhappy, can't remember when,

I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy and you've taken all you can bear
You call me up because you know I'll be there
And I see your true colors shining through

So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors, true colors, are beautiful,
Like a rainbow

2.1.4 What’s love got to do with it (Tina)
You must understand how the touch of your hand
Makes my pulse react
That it's only the thrill of boy meetin' girl
Opposites attract
It's physical
Only logical
You must try to ignore that it means more than that
Oh oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it?
What's love but a second hand emotion?
What's love got to do, got to do with it?
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?
It may seem to you that I'm acting confused
When you're close to me
If I tend to look dazed I've read it someplace
I've got cause to be
There's a name for it
There's a phrase that ts
But whatever the reason you do it for me
Oh oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it?
What's love but a second hand emotion?
What's love got to do, got to do with it?
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?

Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?
2.1.5 Heaven is a place on earth (Heathers)
When the night falls down
I wait for you, and you come around
And the world's alive
With the sound of kids on the street outside
When you walk into the room
You pull me close, and we start to move
And we're spinnin' with the stars above
And you lift me up in a wave of love
Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth
They say in Heaven, love comes rst
We'll make Heaven a place on Earth
Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth
When I feel alone
I reach for you, and you bring me home
When I'm lost at sea
I hear your voice, and it carries me
In this world, we're just beginnin'
To understand the miracle of livin'
Baby, I was afraid before
But I'm not afraid anymore
Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth
They say in Heaven, love comes rst
We'll make Heaven a place on Earth

2.2 Jack And The Beanstalk
Open with music. A Narrator enters
Narrator: Once Upon a Time…
More Music. Perhaps the characters enter (not the cow) and promenade (?), they
freeze when the music stops.
Narrator: There lived a boy called Jack and his mother, and his brother Clive. Jack and
Clive’s father had popped out for a newspaper…10 years ago! Mind you, looking at the
Mother I’m not surprised!
Mother: Erm…thank you! You can go now.
The Narrator exits
Mother: Oh boys, what are we going to do? We’ve no money, no food, and no hope!
Jack: Don’t worry Mum, something will turn up, it always does.
Mother: Well your Father never did!
Clive: Cow!
Mother: How very dare you! I have never been so insulted in my life. Fancy calling your
own Mother…
Clive: Sell it!
Mother: I am doing. I’m giving it my best shot, I can only work with the material that
I’m given!
Clive: No – not ‘sell the script’, sell the cow. Daisy!
Jack: We can’t sell Daisy, she’s my only friend.
Mother: I’m afraid your brother’s right Jack, she’s the only asset we’ve got left, she
needs to go.
Jack: But…
Mother: No buts, Son. Daisy! Daisy!
We hear loud voices offstage
Voice: No – I’ve told you. I’m not doing it!
Voice 2: Yes, you are! Arkala said so!
1 38
Voice: I don’t care what Arkala said! I’m not doing it!
Voice 3: But she said you’ve got to play the cow.
Voice: Yes, well maybe she should do it herself – you know – typecasting!
Voice 2: Just get on there!
The cow appears from SL on roller skates that they are not very good on and when
they nally stop, drop to ‘all fours’.
Mother: Oh, Daisy, there you are dear.
Clive: Cow.
Mother: I’ve warned you…
Clive: No – she’s a cow, not a deer.
Mother: No…I meant dear as in a term of affection, not as in ‘Doe a deer, a female
deer…’
Clive: Sorry, you’ve lost me.
Mother: We can but hope.
Jack: Hello, Daisy my only and best friend. (covers Daisy’s ears) Mum, please can you
reconsider?
Mother: I’m sorry Jack. She’s got to go. It’s the only thing that we can do to survive.
Jack: Well, I’m not selling her.
Mother: Now, Jack, you know that you are the one that has to take her to market. I
can’t go anywhere with my condition…and your brother can’t go because of his
condition…
Jack: I’ve been meaning to ask. What are your conditions?
(Mother & Clive look at each other)
Mother: Well…I’ve got ingrowing toenails and your brothers got terrible allergies.
Jack: Allergies? To what? Hard work??
Mother: Well, yes…
Clive: How dare you both! I’ll have you know I suffer from a lack of transparency.
1 39
fi
Mother: Forget it Clive, he can see right through you.
Jack: Fine – I’ll take her, but I’m not happy about it.
Mother: Oh, don’t get your woggle in a twist dear. The sooner you sell Daisy, the
sooner we can eat and the sooner you can have a scouting uniform that actually ts!
Jack: Oh, alright…how much shall I ask?
Mother: As much as you can get. But no less ve pounds. Now you’ve got a long
journey added of you, so don’t forget your Billy can.
Jack: Ok – come on Daisy.
Jack & Daisy go to leave (perhaps walk on the spot with people going past them to
represent travelling?)
Narrator: A short while later, Jack and Daisy nd themselves on a path that don’t
recognise…
Jack: So, which way now Daisy?
Daisy: Moo!
Jack: Oh, I’m sorry mate, I don’t speak cow.
Daisy: (As the actor) But you talk a lot of bull…
(Panto baddie music and a man enters)
Man: Good day young man. What a magni cent beast that is!
Jack: This is my cow and best friend, Daisy and I’m Jack.
Man: And where might you be taking her on this ne day?
Jack: Unfortunately, I have to take her to market to sell her. We need the cash you
see…
Man: Oh, what a shame. Perhaps I might take her off your hands?
Jack: That would be amazing. Five pounds please!
Man: Oh…I don’t have any money I’m afraid…
Jack: Oh that’s a shame….

Man: (Opens a bag under Jack’s nose) But I have do these…magic beans!
Jack: Magic beans? What’s magic about them?
Man: These beans can make your dreams come true.
Jack: Oh, I don’t know…what would Mum say?
Man: She’ll say Jack’s the lad when she sees what these beans can do.
Jack: Oh, I don’t know…dreams come true you say?
Man: Oh, yes Jack.
Jack: But will I be able to afford a gold plated woggle?
Man: Anything you wish Jack.
Jack: Oh…ok…go on then.
Narrator: So, Jack and the mysterious bean wielding man shake hands on the deal
and Jack bids a tearful farewell to Daisy. A short while later, Jack arrives home…
Mother: Well that was quick – here, you didn’t get lost did you? You know your
orienteering is not what it should be.
Jack: No, Mum…I didn’t even get to the market – I met a man in the woods…
Mother: Oooh, you need to be careful about chance meetings in the woods dear, you
never know what terrible things can happen as a result. (Clive enters) Speak of the
devil…
Jack: No, listen Mum. He bought Daisy straight away and gave me this bag in
exchange.
Clive: This is amazing news!! Maccy D’s all round! (He looks in the bag) Hold up!!
There’s no money in here!
Jack: Of course there isn’t…
Mother: Let me have a look…beans!!!
Clive: Beans?
Mother: Nothing but beans!
Jack: No,Mum,listen…
1 41
Mother: You stupid boy!! You’ve sold our only asset for half a bag of Heinz! (She
throws the beans upstage). Why would you do that to me? To us?
Jack: But Mum, Clive…
Mother: Go to your room and don’t come out until morning.
Narrator: So, Jack and his family went to bed…the next morning, after a really bad
night’s sleep, Jack walked out of the front door, bleary eyed, and walked straight into
something that wasn’t there before!
Jack: (Walks into the beanstalk) Ow! What? Mum!!! Clive!!!
Mother: Will you keep your voice down. I am trying to catch up on my beauty sleep.
Clive: I don’t think you can catch up 60 years in one night!
Jack: Stop it you two! Look!
Mother: Oh my goodness! What is it? Where has it come from? Do we need planning
permission?
Clive: That’s massive!
Jack: It must have grown from those beans you threw away Mum.
Mother: Wait a minute, are you saying that those beans were magic beans?
Jack: That’s what I was trying to tell you last night…
Clive: This is amazing! I wonder where it leads?
Mother: Well, legend tells of a giant’s lair up in the sky, that can only be accessed by
the bravest of people. And in that lair are riches beyond their wildest dreams.
Jack: Is that true, Mum?
Mother: I’m not sure, but we need to get a wiggle on, we’ve still got the obligatory
Motown medley to go and time’s getting on.
Narrator: So, Jack decided that he should be the person to climb the beanstalk and
bring back all that he could nd in the giant’s lair.
(Into music section where we see Jack waving a dramatic goodbye to his family and
climbing the beanstalk. As the music stops, Jack is outside the giant’s lair.)
Jack: Wow – look at the size of this place! (he goes through the door) OMG and dib
dib dib!!! This is incredible! Ok – so I need to get in and out as quickly as possible.
1 42
fi
Narrator: So Jack made his around the giant’s lair, putting as many things into his bag
as he possibly could, as quietly as he could until…
(Jack drops something that makes a really loud noise and hides)
Giant: (Waking up o stage VO) What? What’s that noise? (Loud sni ng SFX) Fe, Fi,
Fo, Fum, I smell the blood of a scouting man. Be he Venture, or be he cub, I’ll grind his
bones to make my grub!
(Jack runs out from whatever he has been hiding behind and heads for the beanstalk.
We hear SFX of the giant chasing him. Jack reaches the beanstalk, climbs down it,
followed by the giant. As he reaches the bottom, Mum & Clive are waiting for him)
Mother: Oh, Jack, you’re back.
Clive: And your front…
Jack: Mum, Clive, quick! The giant is chasing me. I need some help – something to
chop the beanstalk down.
Mother: Clive, I know it goes against all of your instincts, but…quick!
Clive: Here you go!
Jack: What’s that?
Clive: Nail clippers!
Mother: Nail clippers?
Jack: Is that the best that you can do?
Clive: I’ve only got small pockets. It’s not like I could carry that massive axe around.
(He points to an axe that is right next to him)
Jack: The axe! Quick!
(Clive passes the axe to Jack who chops away at the beanstalk as we hear the sound
of the giant approaching. Eventaully we hear the sound of the beanstalk falling and the
screams of the giant as the beanstalk crashes to the ground. Blackout)
(The lights come up slowly and we see Jack, his Mum and carefully Clive getting to
their feet as some scouts enter with cleaning supplies)
Leader: Mrs Trott, we are the Peterborough Scout Corp Elite Cleaning Section and we
are here to help you clean up this mess. Squad – attention!!
Mother: Well that’s very kind of you, Mr Scout Leader sir.

(They tidy the area very quickly and ef ciently)
Jack: Wow – it looks incredible.
Clive: Better than ever, certainly better than when Mum ever does it.
Mother: Oi!
Jack: There must be some way that we can thank you?
Leader: We’re happy to help.
Jack: But, look, we’ve got all of these riches that I erm…’reappropriated’ from the
giant’s lair. Is there anything you need?
Leader: Well, we could do with a new scout hut. That beanstalk attened our old one.
Jack: Consider it done!
Narrator: So, Jack and the Scout Leader shook hands on the deal and within no time
the scouts had their new hut and Jack and his family stayed in their humble home and,
most importantly, one day Jack had gone to the market for some supplies and who
should he nd there but his old pal Daisy, who he immediately bought back, took home
and they all lived happily ever after.
2.2.1 Im A Believer
I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried
I thought love was more or less a giving thing
Seems the more I gave the less I got
What's the use in tryin'
All you get is pain?
When I needed sunshine, I got rain
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer

1.3 Don’t Worry!
Dear Mum & Dad:
We are having a great time here at Lake Typhoid. (Leader) is making us all write to our
parents in case you saw the oods on the news last night and were worried. Don’t
worry, we are all right. Only 1 tent and 2 sleeping bags got washed away. Luckily none
of us were drowned because we were all up on the mountain looking for Jo when it
happened.
Oh yes, can you please call Jo’s mum and dad and tell them that she’s ne. It’s just
that she can't write to them because of the plaster cast on her arm. I got to ride in one
of the search & rescue jeeps. Don’t worry, it was really exciting. We would never have
found her in the dark if it hadn't been for the lightening. (Leader) got very annoyed
with Jo for going on a hike on her own without letting anyone know. Jo said he did tell
Leader, but it was during the re, so Leader probably didn't hear her. Did you know
that if you put a gas bottle on a re, the gas will blow up? The wet wood still didn't
burn, but one of our tents did. Also, some of our clothes. Hannah is going to look very
strange until her hair grows back.
We will be home on Saturday if Leader gets the minibus xed. Don’t worry - it wasn't
her fault that we crashed into that motorcyclist - the brakes were working perfectly
when we left. (Leader) said that with a minibus that old you have to expect something
to break down. Come to think of it, that’s probably why she can't get insurance on it.
We think it's a great bus. She doesn't care if we get it dirty. If its hot, sometimes she
lets us ride in the back with it open. She has to, as It gets pretty hot with 30 people in
a minibus. She also let us take turns riding in the trailer until the policeman pulled us
over and talked to us. Leader is great. She is a very good driver. In fact, she is
teaching Simon how to drive. But don’t worry - he only lets him drive on the mountain
roads where there isn't much traf c. All we ever see up there are the logging lorries
and bulldozers.
This morning all of my patrol were diving off the rocks and swimming in the lake. Don’t
worry, Leader wouldn't let me because she knows I can't swim. Jo was afraid she
would sink because of her plaster cast, so Leader let the two of us take the canoe
across the lake. It was great. You can still see some of the trees under the water from
the ood. Leader isn't stroppy like some leaders. She didn't even get cross about the
life jackets.
Leader has had to spend a lot of time working on the minibus, so we are trying not to
cause her any trouble.
Guess what? We have all passed our rst aid pro ciency badges. When Alice dived
into the lake and cut her arm, we got to see how a tourniquet works. Also, Neil and I
threw up. Leader said it was probably just food poisoning from the leftover chicken
supreme.

2.6.3 Treat People With Kindness
Maybe we can
Find a place to feel good
And we can treat people with kindness
Find a place to feel good
I got a good feeling
I'm just takin' it all in
Floating up and dreamin'
Droppin' into the deep end
And if we're here long enough
They'll sing a song for us (ah-ah-ah-ah)
And we'll belong
Maybe we can
Find a place to feel good
And we can treat people with kindness
Find a place to feel good
Giving second chances
I don't need all the answers
Feeling good in my skin
I just keep on dancin'
And if we're here long enough
We'll see it's all for us
And we'll belong
Maybe we can
Find a place to feel good
And we can treat people with kindness
Find a place to feel good
Maybe we can (all together now!)
(One more time!)
Find a place to feel good (oh yeah!)
And we can treat people with kindness (just a little bit of kindness)
Find a place to feel good (ow!)

2.6.4 Never To Late
It's never too late to turn things around
Recover, unravel the path to confound
The doubters and losers that line up despair
Will tell you it's over, you're going nowhere
It's never too late, I hope
It's never too late
It's never too late to get back on track
To get at least some, if not all of it back
I thought I was happy, and sometimes I was
The sadness is just as important because
Got to carry the weight and hope
It's never too late
Never too late to ght the ght
Never too late to cheat the night
Never too late to win the day
Never too late to break away
Time will start to move too fast, the time is now, my friends
I'm a long way from the start, but further from the end
Oh no, it's never too late
It's never too late to turn things around
Recover, unravel the path to confound
The doubters and losers that line up despair
Will tell you it's over, you're going nowhere
It's never too late, I hope
It's never too late
Never too late to ght the ght
Never too late to cheat the night
Never too late to win the day
Never too late to break away
Time will start to move too fast, the time is now, my friends
I'm a long way from the start, but further from the end
Oh no, it's never too late
Never too late to ght the ght
Never too late to cheat the night
Never too late to win the day
Never too late to break away
Never too late to ght the ght, babe
Never too late to cheat the night
Never too late to win the day
Never too late to break away
Time will start to move too fast, the time is now, my friends

2.6.5 Gee Its Great
Down the wide opening road, I go swinging,
Gee it’s great to be young.
With a song in my heart I am singing,
Gee it’s great to be young.
Though stormy winds may blow,
I’ll let them blow.
For each day seems to say “This is my day”
Gee it’s great to be young
When I leap out of bed in the morning,
Gee it’s great to be young.
I can laugh at the weatherman’s warning,
Gee it’s great to be young.
I want to shout and sing,
Here comes the spring.
Life is mine and it’s ne in the sunshine,
Gee it’s great to be, yes it’s great to be young
Gee it’s great to be young
2.6.6 National Anthem
God save our gracious King,
Long live our noble King,
God save the King,
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the King.
