Applications programs are programs written to solve specific problems, to produce specific
reports, or to update specific files. A computer program that performs useful work on behalf
of the user of the computer (for example a word processing or accounting program) as
opposed to the SYSTEM SOFTWARE which manages the running of the computer itself, or
to the DEVELOPMENT software which is used by programmers to create other programs.
An application program is typically self contained, storing data within files of a
special (often proprietary) format that it can create, open for editing and save to disk: this is
in distinction to a UTILITY program, which typically performs simple operations on files
created by other programs.

1. Web Browsers
Is a web browser an application software? (Gasps)
Yes, a web browser is application software that helps you to surf the internet. They help the
users to find data across the internet.
Web browser application software example: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.
2. Freeware
As the name suggests, freeware is available without spending money.
Anyone can download it from the internet without spending a dime and start benefiting from
its features.
However, the user cannot make any changes to the source code.
Freeware application software example: Skype, Team viewer, Adobe reader, etc.
3. Open-source software
Open-source application software is available on the internet with source codes. The user has
the right to modify and enhance the code.
Most of them are available for free; however, very few of them are paid.
Open-source application software examples: Moodle, OpenOffice, Gimp, etc.
4. ERP Application software
Enterprise Resource Planning, acronymized as ERP, is one of the best types of application
software for organizations.
It helps the organizations to manage everyday tasks and simplify management activities.
As business leaders, we can understand there are so many tasks/operations that require your
surveillance.

3. CONCLUSION
After we have done this task, we achieve our goals for this topics and their subtopics. We
know much better on application software from their definitions, history and etc. computer
application has given human life more comfortable and easy. Thanks to who had created
these application. System software is everything for your computer, and your system is
nothing without system software. Also, system software acts as a translator between you and
your system hardware. So, knowing about system software is fundamental for system user.
