The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural

Organization (UNESCO) is the specialized agency of the United Nations
contributing to building peace through international cooperation in
education, the sciences and culture.

UNESCO's mission is to contribute to the building of a culture of peace,

the eradication of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural
dialogue through education, the sciences, culture, communication and
information.

(So UNESCO works to create the condition of dialogue among civilizations

cultures and people.)

(UNESCO also provide sustainable development for poor countries,

specifically in Africa and also here in the Philippines UNESCO helps a lot
because it promotes dialogue from other countries that connects here in
the Philippines, so that the Philippines can also connect from the other
countries and has “vice versa”.)

World War II was far from over, yet those countries were looking for ways
and means to rebuild their education systems once peace was restored.
The project quickly gained momentum and soon acquired a universal
character. New governments, including that of the United States, decided
to join in. Upon the proposal of CAME, a United Nations Conference for
the establishment of an educational and cultural organization
(ECO/CONF) was convened in London from 1 to 16 November 1945.
Scarcely had the war ended when the conference opened.

ECO-CONFERENCE - a meeting to discuss a company's or

organization's plans to protect the environment

digmaang pandaigdig.)

 The Nazis were a group of radical nationalist who formed their own
political party in 1919 . Led by Adolf Hitler, a former corporal who had
served in World War I.
Education is a basic human right that works to raise men and women out
of poverty, level inequalities and ensure sustainable development. But
worldwide 244 million children and youth are still out of school for
social, economic and cultural reasons. Education is one of the most
powerful tools in lifting excluded children and adults out of poverty and
is a stepping stone to other fundamental human rights.

(Education is a fundamental human right for every man, woman and

child. It lies at the heart of UNESCO’s work to build a more peaceful,
just and sustainable planet.)

(UNESCO has 195 member countries and it pursues its objectives

through five major programs: education, natural sciences, social and
human sciences, culture, and communication and information.)
