INTRODUCTION
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in understanding the
attitudes and behaviors of Generation Z students, particularly in the school
premise. Generation Z, also known as the post-millennials or the i Generation,
are those individuals born between the late 1990s and early 2010s. As college
students it is essential to comprehend the mindset of these young people
since they will soon be part of the workforce and ultimately impact society's
future. As a result, the purpose of this study is to depict and understand the
attitudes of Generation Z on the school grounds.
With specific traits that set them apart from previous generations, Gen Z is
a distinctive generation. Because they were raised with modern technology
and the internet, they are known as digital natives. The students of the
generation, known also as "babies born with a chip‟ is the most unmotivated,
uninterested, disconnected, yet active ones with technology.
In addition, the generation Z pupils' intrinsic reliance on technology is a
key characteristic in a way that this generation was raised at a time when
technology was pervasive, it is essential to their educational experience. They
thus favor learning materials that are distributed via technology. They also
anticipate that the technology they use would be dynamic and intuitive, giving
them a customized learning environment.
However, compared to prior generations, this one tend to have more
negative attitude when on school grounds. Some behavior includes
disrespecting the teachers and classmates, too much reliance on
technology, using gadgets inappropriately during classes. Those are just few of
the things this generation negative act in school. Hence, their is numerous
aspects and factors why the students are behaving like it.
For this reason, this study is conducted to understand more about the
attitude of Generation Z inside the school and the factors behind those
behavior. With the help of this study, people will understand more about
Generation Z and all the questions that have been raised concerning their
behavior on school property will be answered.
Executive Summary:
As the world evolves, human's behavior also changes. It has been said
that Generation Z is the most difficult to deal with, also known as different in
terms of everything especially when it comes to attitudes. It is obviously
observable everywhere, and most commonly in school premises. Gen Z’s
attitude is one of the challenges teacher have to face within the school,
because people of this generation spend the most of their time there. As a
result, it clearly defined this generation’s attitude. This generation shows
behavior at various kinds. When observed, it is clear that Gen Z shows
negative behavior more than the good attitudes towards other individuals
inside school premises such as being disrespectful. It includes the following:
showing no proper behavior towards instructor during classes, such as using
gadgets even though they are not permitted and talking to seatmate while the
teacher is in the front maybe because Gen Z are exposed technology and
cannot handle face to face. Above all of this inappropriate attitudes, is the
absence of respect during a particular instance especially during arguments
and the way of approaching not just towards faculty members but also to
fellow students.
Thus, this study aims to examine the attitudes of Generation Z in school
premises and reason of behind those attitudes.

BODY
INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT
Understanding Gen Z behavior in school premise is timely and relevant,
for the reason that it identify the potential and obstacles in the contemporary
educational system and they will soon be a part of the working world and
have an impact on society's future. Therefore, in order to match their wants
and expectations, it is crucial to comprehend and conduct this case study. In
order to gain insight into Gen Z students' learning preferences, attitudes
toward education, and various attitude problems in the classroom, this study
explores these issues and identifies their causes. It also seeks an explanation
for these issues in an effort to help or lessen the severity of the problem.
EXAMINATION, ANALYSIS AND FINDINGS
What are the problems regarding the attitude of Generation Z inside the
school premises?
To enable us to determine what are the various problems regarding the
attitude of Generation Z inside the school premises, people were asked on
what are their observations on the attitude of Generation Z inside the school
premises. In the survey, having no discipline scored higher than the other
negative traits. It has been said that when approaching their teachers, they
perceive unethical traits. They do not set aside outside business on the school
premises. They have to be professional. On the other hand, self-centeredness
and no consideration for others' opinions follow these negative traits.
According to them, unity is very relevant in school, but some do not offer help
to the helpless but rather are self-centered. They do not know how to consider
the opinions of others. Moreover, the negative trait that has been observed is
that students do not follow the dress code but rather follow the trend, have no
proper haircut, lack time management, and are disrespectful to their teachers
while discussing by talking to their seatmates. The attitude problems
mentioned above are just some of the real problems in today's generation.
What are the factors that affect the Generation Z’s attitude in School
premises?
Factor 1. Parent: The first factor affects the school administrators‟ lives is the
changing profile of parents and their
over-protective and demanding attitude. Some of the people involved in the
research group are mentioned below:
“The profile of parents has changed over time. They expect us to make
compromises for their children. This generation prefers to strengthen
themselves and stand against us with their parent‟s support” (SA11).
“I observe how powerful a student can become with their parents‟ support
even if he has made a mistake. This power enables him to tyrannize over the
teachers and the school” (SA9).
“The parents control and influence on today‟s children is insufficient.” If the
family does not cooperate with school administrators and cannot reach any
sort of consensus, then the desired school performance cannot be achieved” (
SA15).
“Sometimes, it can be more difficult to persuade a parent than persuading a
child.” If the both sides are on the same page and supervise the children
together, the problem will be over” Because the children are affected by both
by their family and surroundings”. It is essential to make children believe that
the school‟s applications are true” (SA10).
Factor 2. Technology: The second factor of the research question 1 focuses
on the adverse effects of the use of technology at schools from the
perspective of school administrators. Some of the people involved in the
research group are mentioned below:
“The current generation does not use technology consciously enough. For
now, we observe some adverse effects like becoming unsociable and
undisciplined. There is no auto control and there is no control mechanism.”
Unfortunately, children are left loose about the use of technology” (SA10).
“There is another life and Generation Z experiences it to the hilt. In particular,
social media has a powerful influence on young people. When used
maliciously, it is detrimental to both children and education system, but if used
properly, it is quite useful” (SA14).
“Technology has begun to be used in the schools, however; we do not
possess the facility and the maturity to utilize it effectively. A child comes to
the school with his Ipod and leads teachers to have hard times in using the
smart boards and the internet use by breaking the passwords. Interesting, yet
nowadays, the greatest problem of us is the use of smart
phones at school” (SA3).
Factor 3. Environment: The third factor is concerned with the importance of
outside relations and lives of the students and its negative impact on the
school administrators‟ performance in dealing with students. Some of the
people involved in the research group are mentioned below:
“The personal affairs out of school are quite important. This generation brings
their personal affairs to the schools and perceives the school as their home.
The children of fragmented families that have been involved in crime can be
rather troublesome for school administrators. In past, the fragmented families
are few in numbers, but today, it is quite a lot” (SA14).
“Popular culture has a negative influence on the teenagers” (SA11).
How does technology affect the attitude of Generation Z inside the
school premises?
Gen Z students were born into technology . Gen Z students are digital
natives meaning they have little or no memory of the world as it existed
before smartphone. Previous lived through the computer and internet
revolutions, while they've only known a world with high- tech opportunities .
And also nowadays they are now called techy- savy which means they
already knew about technology and because of too much using gadgets, it
affects to their health and brain that may cause them too much addiction by
using of cellphones which is not good because a big possibility it also affect to
their study as well that may cause failure grades.
Gen Z wants immediate feedback . Because of the instant gratification that
social media and access to the internet provide, students don't have the
patience to wait. That's why when students turn in an assignment, they can't
always rationalize why their teacher haven't graded it immediately( even if it
was two weeks late). So to avoid situations like this ,its important to express
expectations and rationalize what's going on so that they are aware of what
possible happen at exact time.
Technology has drastically evolved over the past few decades; we’ve
seen the inception of mobile phones, social media platforms, electric cars and
artificial intelligence to say the least! The digitally-native Gen-Z (born between
1997 and 2012) have never known a world without smartphones! Technology
has brought about both advantages and disadvantages, we explore the
impact it’s had on this generation.
The Pro’s
It may be said that technology has given rise to an instant gratification culture
and consequently had a negative impact on millennial and gen-Z, they
certainly don’t like to settle for anything less than their expectations. They are
continuously looking for improvement, not only in terms of the things they
have but also in terms of their own personal values and those of the world
around them. These generations appear to have shifted their focus towards a
more empathetic and ethical outlook.
The Con’s
Gen-Z have become accustomed to instant rewards and reactions due to the
connectivity of our world, largely fueled by social media. This instant
gratification can have a negative effect as it perpetuates impatience and if
something doesn’t get a result immediately, its deemed not worth trying again.
Nevertheless, thanks to technology Gen Zs are global thinkers, often placing
societal and environment issues above building relationships with those close
to them. The trade-off for increased digital connectivity is the reduction in
interpersonal or so called ‘soft’ skills. Gen-Z don’t value face-to-face
communication as much as previous generations did. However, this could
have a detrimental effect on other crucial life skills such as teamwork and
resilience in dealing with difficult situations.
Solution
Based on the interview conducted to the students inside the school
premise. Respondents said that, educating individuals in this generation is the
top most solution. Further, promote awareness to address the Gen Z’s
attitude problem. They added that guidance from parents, guardians, teachers
and anyone who is capable to guide can also help to develop the attitude of
this generation. Also, they said that Gen Z should limit the time they engage
on social media and must used internet only for important things like school
purposes. And lastly, they say that self discipline can also be a contributing
factor to solve this problem.
Recommendation
To Gen Z individuals, promote self control and discipline. Minimize the
usage of social media and internet and only use those technology only if
necessary especially only for school purposes.
To the school, provide seminars or orientation to address the problem.
Gen Z need to be guided not just once but always educate them about their
attitude. Promote a strict policy within school premises that could help develop
Gen Z's attitude
To the parents, promote a parent -child connection. Gen Z's attitude is
commonly caused by lack of interaction with parents. Without this connection,
there will be an absence og Guidance. Parents must mold their child not
accordingly on how parents in this generation raise children. Even at young
age, teach them self control and decipline and don't let them become addicted
to technology. Limit their time to social media and internet and must only let
them use this things if necessary.
To the teacher, guide them always, but don't let them disrespect you as a
teacher. Have no mercy to those individuals in generation who has show no
respect. What attitude they show, let them realize through grades. Education
is not all about gaining knowledge, but also to build you as a better person.
Let their own realizations changed their behavior.
CONCLUSION
Generation Z tend to have more negative attitude when on school
grounds. Some behavior includes disrespecting the teachers and classmates,
too much reliance on technology, using gadgets inappropriately during
classes. Those are just few of the things this generation negative act in school.
Hence, their is numerous aspects and factors why the students are behaving
like it.the negative attitude exhibited by Gen Z in school premises is the result
of a combination of factors. A breakdown in the family unit and a paucity of
guidance characterizes their upbringing and can promote negative attitudes in
school.
Additionally, technology and social media have made an impact,
decreasing their attention spans and exposing them to cyberbullying. Parents,
teachers, and school administrators play an essential role in addressing this
issue by providing support, guidance, and open communication with students.
These measures can promote a positive learning environment that leads to
better academic performance and emotional well-being among Gen Z
students.
