The importance of the Mouth
Of all parts of the human body, one of the
greatest and smallest is the mouth. Without the
mouth, no communication can take place. It is
required in almost every endeavour of mankind.
In the past, words spoken by mouth have driven
nations into battle. It is a little part of the body
but with it, man can build and great destruction
can be done.
As small as the mouth may be, it can exercise a
large amount of power and do great destruction
greater than a double-barrel gone. One of the
greatest and surest ways to commit suicide is to
use the mouth. Making declarations such as I
am too old. This sickness is killing me slowly. I
don’t think I can make it through this sickness.

The impact of that self-destructive mouth
action may not be immediate. Oftentimes, it is
latent. It accumulates gradually like the way
water is being collected by a droplet in a cup.
The cup might not get filled immediately. But as
long as the droplet of water keeps coming down,
that cup must be full one day.
But the intendment of God for giving believers
mouth is to use it for the purposes of profiting
their lives. Your mouth is supposed to be a tool
in your hands for bringing heaven into your life.
That is, bringing the reality of heaven as Jesus
had taught his disciples, thy will be done in
heaven as it is done on earth. All these realities
can be manifested by the power of declarations.
Interestingly, though the unbeliever may be
relying on motivation to speak positive words,
for the believer it is not so. The words that you
are speaking contain spirit and life. So the
potential of your declaration changing
everything around your life outweighs what
your mortal mind can comprehend. God took

six days to create the earth and for each of these
days, he made declarations daily. The earth
which was earlier void, formless and without a
shape now assumes a dimension of beauty that
all of us can see now. Sometimes people go to
the mountain to see beautiful sceneries. Others
may travel as far as Africa in order to behold the
wonderful safaris in that continent. All over the
world, amazing beautiful scenes dotted
everywhere. It will surprise you to know that all
of the things that you see were made through
daily declarations for a period of six days.
What to do before I sleep
The night season offers one of the greatest times
for conducting spiritual business. It was during
the night that the enemy sowed tares.
Matthew 13:25-28

25 But while men

slept, his enemy came
and sowed tares

among the wheat, and
went his way.

26 But when the blade

was sprung up, and
brought forth fruit,
then appeared the
tares also.

27 So the servants of
the householder came
and said unto him,
Sir, didst not thou
sow good seed in thy
field? from whence
then hath it tares?

28 He said unto them,

An enemy hath done
this. The servants said
unto him, Wilt thou
then that we go and
gather them up?

 29 But he said, Nay;
lest while ye gather up
the tares, ye root up
also the wheat with
them.

As long as the men were active, making a daily

effort in their business, the enemy couldn’t do
anything. If you keep making declarations in
your life, there is nothing that the enemy can do
to hurt your life or destiny. He was an
opportunity seeker so he was waiting for the
night season to take advantage of it. And when
the night crept in, he came and sowed tares. No
one knew anything. When it was morning, the
field that was bereft of tares wore a new outlook.
It was ridden by tares everywhere.
Friends, the night season although made for
sleep, but the wise ones use it to secure and
protect their destinies from the influx of the
tares into the field of their lives. Why do witches
and satanic activities prefer the cover of night?

They know that men will be sleeping and no one
can detect their works. Suddenly some people
wake up and notice everything has changed.
They began to struggle. Their finances
nosedived, their health in a pitiable state. All of
a sudden things have been modified in their
lives. The enemy has done this. And to undo it,
you must make sustained effort to issue decrees
that will change everything. You too should take
advantage of the night season and make
decrees. Friends, make use of the night and
speak words.
Daily victory for a child of God is not something
you simply desire. They are declared. Voodoo,
witches, demons use the night to speak words
into the air. Yet the believers that God has given
to us the earth are tossing and turning in the
pool of sleep.
Psalms 115:16

The heaven, even the

heavens, are the
Lord's: but the earth

 hath he given to the
children of men.

And when they wake up in the morning, things

have changed. The devil took advantage of their
slumber and planted unwanted things in their
lives.
What to do when I wake up
Job 38:12

Hast thou
commanded the
morning since thy
days; and caused the
dayspring to know his
place;

Men sleep in the night and wake up in the

morning. What do I do when I wake up in the
morning? You tell the morning what you want
to see. The Bible says have you commanded the
morning? Have you given orders to the morning
so that it may do what you want it to do?

It means that the morning is pregnant with a
listening ear. If the Bible says we should give
orders to the morning, then it means the
morning can hear us. It means that every day
that you wake up after talking to God in the
morning, the next most important thing you
should do is to give orders to the day. You tell
the morning what you want to see. You speak to
the day so that it can bring forth the things you
expect. Your words are very important and the
morning is waiting for your declaration. It is as
a result of the lack of declarations by believers
that has caused our day to take a different
dimension other than what we expect. What
you speak in the morning, is what you see in the
day.
Are you expecting to be financially blessed in
the day? Then when you wake up in the
morning, declare your financial blessing over
your life using Scriptures. You can say for
instance, when men are saying today that there
is a cast down financially, I will say that there is
a lifting up financially. This is the day that the

Lord God has made, I will rejoice and be glad in
it and I will be blessed beyond measure in my
finances. I release financial favour in every
dimension in my life in the name of Jesus. And
I uproot every root of financial want and lack in
the name of Jesus. I am blessed.
It takes a level of consistency to make things
happen in the realm of the spirit so that it can
influence the physical. As you continue to speak
every day of your life when you wake up in the
morning, you will begin to see changes little by
little. All of a sudden, you will notice that your
day is taking a different dimension. And it is
impossible for the day to do otherwise because
you have already commanded it by declarations
to behave in a certain way. The Bible makes us
understand that the earth has ears. The
morning of the day also has ears. So they can
hear. Speak what you want to see in the
morning. The night hours and the early
morning time of the day are important
timelines for the believer. Those who
understand this take advantage of the seasons

in order to have a victorious Christian life. You
make decrees and speak words into the air. They
aren’t vain words, but they are words that are
bound to be fulfilled.

We need to learn from God
Nobody offers a practical example of daily
declarations in other to obtain victory than God
himself. It was from God that we learned that, if
we want anything from a void situation, then we
must speak out.
Genesis 1:1-3

In the beginning God

created the Heaven
and the earth.

2 And the earth was

without form, and
void; and darkness

 was upon the face of
the deep. And the
Spirit of God moved
upon the face of the
waters.

3 And God said, Let

there be light: and
there was light.

The Bible says that the earth was formless and

void. The moment God wanted to make
something out of the void earth, the first thing
he did was to begin to make declarations. He
said, let there be light. And there was light. I
want you to understand the perspective from
which God was speaking. Everywhere was total
darkness when he began his creative work on
earth through daily declarations for six days.
The Bible even says that darkness was upon the
face of the deep and the spirit of the Lord was
hovering above the waters. We will come to that
later in the stages of daily declarations. But for
now, let us focus on how to learn from God.

When the word started to come out from the
mouth of God at an unprecedented level, the
words that he was speaking commanded the
earth to obey. And why do we need to make
declarations? Simple! We have been made in
the image and likeness of God. All his
potentiality of making declarations and see
them coming to pass have been deposited into
our lives by virtue of creation in his image and
likeness.
Genesis 1:26-27

26 And God said, Let

us make man in our
image, after our
likeness: and let them
have dominion over
the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the
air, and over the
cattle, and over all
the earth, and over
every creeping thing

 that creepeth upon
the earth.

27 So God created
man in his own image,
in the image of God
created he him; male
and female created he
them.

Daily declarations for victory will begin to

manifest in your life if you learn the act of
speaking even when you don’t see immediate
results. When God began to release words on
the formless earth, he was not concerned with
results. His major expectation was that the
earth would hear him. Sometimes it may take a
long time of declaration before things begin to
happen. It is also possible for you to make
declarations and see instant results. It is not for
you to get discouraged and feel that nothing is
happening, therefore, you need to give up. We
didn’t learn that from God. He made
declarations and saw the result of the

declarations come to pass. The Bible teaches
that this same capacity of God has been given to
man.
Interestingly when God was creating man, he
gave man an added capacity.
Genesis 1:28

And God blessed

them, and God said
unto them, Be
fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the
earth, and subdue it:
and have dominion
over the fish of the
sea, and over the fowl
of the air, and over
every living thing that
moveth upon the
earth.

That capacity is in threefold.

Dominion over what is in the sea such as marine
powers and works of darkness in the waters.
Dominion over what is in the air.
Dominion over everything that walks on the
earth.
It means that every time you begin to make
declarations with your mouth, no matter what
it is, it must surely come to fulfilment because
the Lord has given you that Dominion from the
time of creation. As long as you can continue to
make declarations, results must come. The
Bible encourages us not to be weary in well
doing because within the shortest time we will
receive the reward of what we have been doing.
Galatians 6:9

And let us not be

weary in well doing:
for in due season we
shall reap, if we faint
not.

And I want to let you know that making daily
declarations in order to take charge of your life
and destiny is part of well-doing. Look at what
the Bible says in due time we will receive our
rewards. The Bible is telling us to have the
enduring ability when we make daily
declarations because the Lord will surely reward
us with the fruit of our declarations.
Romans 4:17

(As it is written, I
have made thee a
father of many
nations,) before him
whom he believed,
even God, who
quickeneth the dead,
and calleth those
things which be not as
though they were.

One important aspect of our declarations is that

we must act as if we are seeing what we are

declaring. The Bible says God calls those things
that be not as though they were. You are
declaring financial prosperity and haven’t seen
it, but your behaviour depicts a person who is
financially prosperous. You must, therefore,
begin to act like somebody who is financially
blessed. That is the key to calling those things
that be not as though they were. You begin to
act as if those things are already in your hands.
When you begin to act in line with your
declarations that are yet to enter into your
hands, it is a marvellous act of faith that you are
taking. It is a way of bringing the future into the
present. A believer who takes this kind of step is
acting in line with the word of God. To such a
believer who is acting in faith, the act or actions
of the devil are in vain. Even if the devil keeps
ringing it in the ears of that believer, it makes
no impact at all.
Stages of daily declarations
The first stage of declarations which we saw
from the Bible in the book of Genesis 1:3, has to

do with the spirit of God. The Bible says the
spirit of God was hovering above the face of the
waters. And immediately after the spirit of God
hovered above the face of the waters, God began
to make declarations. So from the Scripture, we
can say that the spirit of God released the power
that made the declarations of God a possibility.
Notice what the Bible says in verse two, that the
earth was without a form, it was void and full of
gross darkness. But the moment the spirit of
God moved upon the face of the waters to
release his power, God knew that the time was
ripe for him to begin to make declarations. And
when he issued those declarations they were
immediately fulfilled.
How does it relate to us? Your declarations will
be ineffective and powerless without the spirit
of God. Everywhere that the wind of the spirit of
God blows, mutations must occur. When the
wind of the spirit blew in the book of Acts
chapter 2, a serious transmutation occurred.
The disciples were filled with the Holy Ghost

and began to speak with other tongues as the
Holy Spirit gave them utterance.
Friends, if there will be any impact that your
declarations will make in order to change your
life and destiny and give you victory every day
of your life, then the first place to begin is to
have the spirit of God in your life. This matter of
the spirit of God is so important that the Bible
says anyone that does not have the spirit of God
does not belong to God (Romans 8:9). If you
have the spirit of God, your declarations will
become a force that will change things around
your life. And if you want to experience the
fullness of the spirit, then I will refer you to the
book of Acts 1:8, when Jesus told the disciples
that they will receive power after the Holy
Ghost is come upon them. It is an experience
you will want to have for effective daily
declarations.
The stage of the Scripture
Your words will have the power to institute
change anywhere if they are in line with

Scriptures. Go to the Bible and search for areas
that are in line with your daily declarations.
Once you get those Scriptures, you used them
to make declarations in order to cause a change
to occur around you. For instance, a believer
who is trusting God for financial prosperity will
have to go through the Bible and look for
Scriptures on financial prosperity and blessings,
then he will use the Scriptures to make daily
declarations. One of the Scripture says in the
book of Job 36:12, if they shall obey and serve me
then they will spend their days in prosperity and
their years in plenty. The Bible contains spirit
and life. And when you release the spirit from
your mouth, everything must become alive
around your life.
The declarations should always be laden the
Scriptures. Avoid the temptation of speaking
words without adding Scriptures to them. The
more Scripture-based your declarations, the
more potent they will be.

God assured us
Psalms 81:10

I am the Lord thy God,

which brought thee
out of the land of
Egypt: open thy
mouth wide, and I will
fill it.

God is actually waiting for every believer to

open his mouth. The above Scripture says, open
your mouth wide and I will fill it. Fill it with
what? Of course, the daily declarations that you
need for a victorious Christian life. Friends, God
is actually waiting for you to talk. He is actually
waiting for you to open your mouth so that he

will put words inside. This accounts for the
reason why no declaration made by a believer is
in vain.
Job 22:28

Thou shalt also

decree a thing, and it
shall be established
unto thee: and the
light shall shine upon
thy ways.

One assurance that every child of God has is

whenever a decree is issued by the believer, it
must be fulfilled. The Bible says you shall decree
a thing and it will be established. That is the
beauty of the Christian walk. In ancient times,
one remarkable thing that distinguishes Kings
is that they rule by decrees. If a king wants to
make any order that will govern his people, he
makes a decree. When the people wanted to
ensure that Daniel is trapped and cast into the
lion’s den, they convince the King to make a

decree. It was a decree that no one should
worship any other God within a period of 30
days. When Daniel decided to violate that king’s
decree and submitted himself to the counsel of
the Almighty God, he was cast into the lion’s
den. I do not want to go into the details of the
story for now unless to draw the example that
Kings’ rule by decree.
And the Bible says in the book of Revelation,
that God has made us kings and priests, unto
him.
Revelation 5:10

And hast made us

unto our God kings
and priests: and we
shall reign on the
earth.

So every believer who is a child of God is a

priest and a king. He can rule his own world by
decrees. This is one of the greatest assurances of
salvation. You were nobody but through the

blood of Jesus, you’re made somebody and can
make decrees that will affect your own life and
destiny. Anybody who is just making positive
affirmations in the name of decrees will never
achieve any victory. His decrees are not
powered by the kingdom of heaven. He is not a
king neither is he a priest. The best his decrees
can do for him is to make that person have a
positive mindset and no more. But the power to
destroy and pull down strongholds of darkness
can never be achieved by human strength. That
is why you need to be connected to God in every
way possible in other to achieve daily victories
for your declaratory word.

Born of God
I will now turn to an important aspect of our
discussion. It is important because they
determine how fast our daily declarations can
turn to manifestation.
1 John 5:4

For whatsoever is
born of God
overcometh the
world: and this is the
victory that
overcometh the
world, even our faith.

The Bible verse and chapter under quotation

says, whatsoever that is born of God will surely

overcome the world. We have earlier
established that every declaration that comes
from the mouth of the child of God must be
fulfilled. That is not contestable in any way
because the Bible has said so. But if you want
your declarations to manifest quickly, look for
what is born of God in your life. The Bible says
whatsoever that is born of God must overcome
the world.
But the question is, what is born of God? In the
book of John 1:13, the Bible gives us an idea of
what is born of God. So anything that emanates
from the godhead, that is, God the Father, God
the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is born of God.
When the Bible talks about anything that is
born of God, it is referring to the origin and
source of that thing. How do you know what is
born of God in your life?
You must look into your life critically and check
to see what God has spoken over you. For
instance, if God has given you a business idea
which came by divine inspiration to do a

particular business, that business is born of
God. It is born of God because it came from the
Lord. As a result of that, that business carries
the potentiality of an overcomer because it
originates from God. In effect, we can say that
the business was born of God. What is it that
God has told you that you are currently doing or
you will be doing in the future? Those things
can form the basis of your daily declarations.
This becomes even potent when what is born of
God is combined with Scripture and declared
daily. Nothing can stop you from seeing the
result from that daily declarations.
However, I need to balance this up. That
something is born of God does not mean it
won’t face opposition. But even in the face of
opposition, that thing is bound to succeed.
Locating what is born of God in your life in
order to turn them into declarations is the
number one key for victory. When Jesus was
teaching his disciples on how to pray, he told
them to pray for the enforcement of the will of
God in heaven to be done on earth. And that

kind of prayer is the number one priority to be
answered on heaven’s prayers list if there is any.
If the business is born of God, it must overcome.
If the job is born of God, it must overcome. If
the pursuit of career was born of God or inspired
by God, it must overcome. As a matter of fact,
whatsoever that is born of God must overcome
the world.
The earlier the believer learns this fact in his
walk with the Lord, the better for him. Many
believers are left frustrated when they make
declarations and it doesn’t come to pass as
quickly as they wanted. This delay in
declarations is not unconnected with the fact
that they are pursuing their own soul agenda. If
you are pushing your own will on earth, then
you must fulfil it with your own wisdom. God is
not obligated to complete what he has not
started. If he didn’t start, he won’t finish it. And
if he started it, he will finish it.
Philippians 1:6

 Being confident of
this very thing, that
he which hath begun
a good work in you
will perform it until
the day of Jesus
Christ:

It is a very risky thing to pursue your own

personal agenda on earth. If you do so, you
stand the risk of seeing your declarations
unfulfilled. But a declaration that is laced with
the will of God for your life has every potential
to be fulfilled quickly. Locate what God wants
you to do and the entire agenda of God for your
life and turn them into declarations for daily
victory. Even if God has not told you what he
wants to do with your life on earth, look for
Scriptures that guarantee the promises of God
for every child of God. The Bible says I know the
thoughts I think towards you. Thoughts of good
and not of evil to give you an expected end.

What is born of God will come to a fulfilment
quickly than what is born of man. Even though
God has given us the capacity to conceive
things, our ability to humble ourselves to his
will makes the manifestation of daily
declarations easier. Often, our frustrations lie in
the fact that we are more concerned with our
will and what we want than the things that God
desires.
Let that thing which you are making
declarations on be born of God and it will amaze
you the speed of the manifestation. Born of God
does not mean that thing must come from a
revelation or vision or even a dream. What
determines whether a thing is born of God is
source and origin. So what is contained in the
word of God is born of God. The Bible says holy
men wrote the Scripture as they were inspired
by the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is God.
So everything contains in the word of God is
born of God and has the full potentiality and
capacity of God. Want to see an unprecedented
ratio of daily declarations coming to pass? The

first place you must begin is to verify whether
what you are declaring is born of God? If indeed
it is born of God, then you can declare and be
fully assured that it will come to pass. That is
why empty declarations without backing them
with Scriptures produces no victory.

Declarations of light
Isaiah 2:5

O house of Jacob,
come ye, and let us
walk in the light of
the Lord.

This clarion call that God has made for all his
children is so that they can maximize the
opportunity that comes from light. When God
was making the earth, the first thing that he
created was not food or sea. The first thing that
God made was light, signifying the important
position that light occupies in the life of every
child of God. To the believer, light is everything.
Even our daily living is sustained by the word of

God. For example, if you get a revelation of
financial prosperity, it is through that revelation
that your finances will come. If you get a
revelation on health, which is light from the
word of God, then your health will be preserved
by that light that you obtained in the word.
Two believers can use the same scripture from
the word of God yet the result may be different.
It was the same scripture that they are using. Yet
the manifestation of their realities is different.
Their realities are curtailed or enhanced by their
understanding. The better your understanding
of scriptures, the more potent your declarations
are going to be. Many believers think that were
supposed to quote scriptures from our mouth or
from our head. It is not wrong. Yet those who
have been quoting bible verses like that have
found it very unprofitable to their spirit.
Scriptures become powerful when we quote
them from our spirit with a deep understanding
of that passage of the bible. This is what makes
the Bible verses productive to a child of God.
And when declarations are made from the

standpoint of light that has been revealed in
scriptures, changes must occur.
Never allow yourself to be distant from the word
of God. The farther you go from the word, the
less potent your declarations are going to be.
However, if you are full of light from God’s word
and you speak in this manner and fashion, even
the devil knows you aren’t speaking vain words
to the night or to the morning. I have come to
realize that Satan only tries to stop what will
hurt his works of darkness. If you begin to make
declarations and the devil came with arrows of
doubt to tell you that, you have been speaking
for long yet nothing has changed. At that point,
you don’t need to stop. You should fire yourself
up to make more declarations. If the things that
you have been declaring aren’t making any
impact, why then is the devil making
determined effort to stop you? The devil is
aware that if he allows you to continue to make
daily declarations either in the night or in the
morning, you will surely have what you have
been speaking over time. The best time for him

to stop you will be now when he knows that it
hasn’t come to pass yet.
Never be tempted to make declarations apart
from Scriptures. It won’t profit you nor will it
change your situation. But a believer who is
armed with the word of God and has also gone
a step further by getting revelation from the
word of God is in a better position to make
declarations and see his result manifest over
time. I like what Bishop Oyedopo, the General
overseer of Living Faith Church World Wide,
says “life doesn’t give you what you desire or
want. Life gives you what you demand.”
So when you wake up every morning to speak
words into the air in the form of daily
declarations, you are placing a demand on life
to give what you want. And you are even in a
better position because you are doing that with
the word of God. Beloved, daily declarations for
victorious Christian living is not something you
should take for granted. It is also not something
you do in isolation. You must be armed with the

word of God. Beyond being armed with the
word of God, that word of God must become a
revelation or light inside of you. Then season
your daily declarations with the light of the
word of God.
The declarations from the standpoint of
precepts
Isaiah 28:10

For precept must be

upon precept, precept
upon precept; line
upon line, line upon
line; here a little, and
there a little:

The above Bible passage tells us that precept

must be upon precepts, line must be upon line.
A little here and a little there. God is never too
late neither is he to0 slow. The Bible says he
makes everything beautiful in his own time. I
need to address this issue now because it is very
important in other to achieve so much in your

daily declarations for a victorious living. The
things you are making daily declarations may
not disappear immediately. As a matter of fact,
it is possible for you to be making daily
declarations, consistently over time and for it to
appear as if things aren’t changing. To a normal
believer, he may just throw in the towel and
believe that it isn’t working. That is the reason
why you must have faith in your daily
declarations because your faith is not only in the
declaration but in God. As you continue to
speak, a time is coming that the real change
must appear. Just like Abraham who against
hope believed in hope that he might become the
father of all nations. The Bible says Abraham
was not weak in faith and staggered not at the
promises of God in unbelief. He was strong in
faith and kept on giving glory to God trusting
him all the way that God has the capacity to
fulfil that which he has spoken.
The promise that was made to Abraham that he
will become the father of many nations did not
materialise in one day. The promise of Isaac

came after 25 years of waiting. Am I trying to tell
you that all your daily declarations will come to
reality after a protracted period of time? Of
course, not. But I need to create a balance so
that somebody does not make daily declarations
in a few days or even in a month and come back
to say it isn’t working. You have to stay on your
declarations until you see results. The Bible says
we are to command the morning. It is a daily
affair. To continue to utter words of victory
every day of your life. It is not something you do
seasonally or occasionally. When you do things
at seasons and stop, you will not see results. You
need to be consistent. Before anyone can pull
things down from the realm of eternity, into the
realm of mortality consistency is necessary.
Even the blessings of God upon the life of a man
are tied to consistency. Before God releases
blessings upon your life, he must have seen your
consistency. This is the same with daily
declarations for victorious living. You have to be
consistent in your declarations. It is not
something you do today and stop tomorrow. In

the same manner, it is not something you do
after a month and stop because you do not see
instant results. Our generation is used to
everything fast. You can have a one-minute
passport. You can also have a one minute
breakfast. Everything is so fast that you wonder
if we are the generation of the speed of light. But
that does not change God. It equally does not
change the way things happen in the realm of
the spirit. To bring things down, there is a need
for consistency. It is possible to make daily
declarations for victorious living today and see
results tomorrow. But in most situations, it
doesn’t happen like that. You may need to stay
on your declarations until the results are
apparent. That is what brings victory.
Friends, I have told you what you need to do in
order to have a victorious Christian life – using
the tool of daily declarations and giving
commands to the day. And I also explained to
you that, daily declarations cannot be done in
isolation. You need to have a solid Bible study
