ELICIT (Access prior to knowledge) MATERIALS
Before the class will start, the following will be observed:
● Prayer
● Checking of Attendance
●Classroom Management/ Reminder of health safety and protocols. (INDICATOR 4,5)

ENGAGE (Get the students’ minds focused on the topic)
Activity 1: 100 and C100 (INDICATOR 1) Flashcards
Direction: True or False. If the statement is true, the learners will raise the card 100 and if
false, they’ll raise the card C100.
1. A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a
group of people dance in one or more lines or rows.
2. Line dance is where participants line up in rows and execute the same movements in a
synchronized manner.
3. Line dancing involves people standing in lines and performing dance movements
together.
4. Line dances have accompanied many popular music styles since the early 1970s
including pop, swing, rock and roll, disco, Latin (salsa suelta), rhythm and blues and
jazz.
EXPLORE (Get the students minds focused on the topic)
Divide the class into 4 groups. Let them familiarize the basic steps of a line dance. For those
learners who are not able, they can just perform the steps in any other ways based on their
convenience. (INDICATOR 8)
EXPLAIN (Teach the concept. Should include interaction between teacher and students.)
Discuss to the class about line dance using powerpoint presentation. (INDICATOR 3) PPT
With the game “pass the ball”, the last one who hold it will answer the question. They can
freely express answers in their own dialect. (INDICATOR 2)
1: Read the line dance definition and express your own reflection. (PROPEL)
2: What is the importance of learning a Line Dance?
ELABORATE (Students apply the information)
Activity 2: “Achy Breaky Heart” Audio/Music
In their respective groupings, learners will incorporate music and the basic steps of a line
dance with the song “Achy Breaky Heart”. (INDICATOR 7)
Q1: How this genre of dance will help you in terms of having a healthy lifestyle?
EVALUATE (How will you know the students have learned the concept)
Activity 3: Guess Me (INDICATOR 6,9)
Directions: The class will be divided according to their gender, girls vs. boys showdown.
Other group will act the basic steps of a line dance accompanied by a clap rhythm of their
song choice; it could be the famous song in their community. While the other group will guess
what line dance step it is, vis a vis.
Performance of the learners will be rated using a rubric.
EXTEND (Deepen conceptual understanding through use in new content)
Directions: Click and watch the you tube link below for a line dance video tutorial and follow
the instructions of the activity.
