My Stress Signals

The teacher will be showing pictures on the screen (stress signals) and the students will identify which of
those are/did they experience.

Stress Signals:

Headache mood changes nail biting


dizziness nightmares pulling hair
weight loss/gain anger tapping
inability to sleep crying use of alcohol
cold hands/feet irritability not caring about physical appearance C. Development of the Lesson

a. ACTIVITY
Concept Note: Stress Management

* Stress can be defined as an emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension. It is the feeling that
one gets from prolonged pent-up emotions.

* Stressors-these are the stimulus that causes stress.

* Words that describe emotions associated with stress.


· Anxiety- uneasiness or nervousness
· Pressure-urgency of matters demanding an attention
· Misery-a state of suffering
· Strain-outburst
· Desperation-state of hopelessness leading to rashness
· Tension-pressure
· Anger-strong feeling of displeasure
· Panic- a sudden overpowering fright
· Dejection-lowness of spirit

* Causes of Stress

1. Everyday Frustration

∙ Workplace (deadline, paperworks , equipment failures, bad weather) 2. Personal Problems

* How to Keep Stress Under Control

1. Understand the causes of stress.


2. Analyze your stress factors and stress signals and write them down. 3. Deal with stressors.
4. Learn to work under pressure or unusual conditions.
* Tips to relax when under pressure:
· Stop for a moment.
· Do a relaxing exercise.
· Take a power nap.
· Find times to do the things you enjoy.
· Look for some peaceful images.
· Look up.
· Keep something humorous on hand.

b. ANALYSIS

Analyzing Stress

Directions: What are the things or events that cause you stress. Write it on the purple box. How do you feel
as a result of those stressors? Write it on the blue box.

c. ABSTRACTION

Managing Stress

Directions: After analyzing your stressors, think of possible ways to overcome your stress. You may use
the following questions as guide.

1. How can I accomplish my task in a more relaxed way?


2. Who can help me feel more positive?
3. How can I enjoy what I’m doing?
4. What are the essential characteristics or traits that I should possess to help me manage stress more
effectively?

d. APPLICATION/ASSESSMENT

Overcoming Stress!

Directions: Present at least 1 daily life situation that causes you stress and your way of dealing with it. You
can paste pictures or present a clip (thru video clip, FB My Day , or Tiktok) as your output. See
below as an example.
