Purpose
This is procedure to help you to troubleshoot QC issue (distortion, phase, force, noise) or simply to make
preventive maitenance on your vibrator. If you provide to sercel information requested here below, we will
assist you to solve it or improve your vibrator.

Vibrator parameters

For hydraulic & nitrogen pressure, please check value with external gauges.

Recorder data :

Pick up statistic of production recorded by DPG. This extension file is *.vaps for APS verbose file. This
VAPS file is located in LOG window.

Copy *.VAPS files for last 5 production days.

Local tests :

Set up following parameters on DSD with


VLI in order to record all signals.

In tablet pc, go to following folder and


delete all files.

Make local tests :


 Test 1 : sweep when hydraulic oil is cold (temperature < 30°C).
 Test 2 : sweep when hydraulic oil is hot (temperature > 45°C).
 Test 3 : sweep where vibrator has bad QC.
 Test 4 : take GOOD vibrator, sweep at the same place as test 3. It will be used as reference.

folder previously cleaned:

Make zip folder with all previous information and send it to Sercel by email at :
