1. Genomics (Apr 2021 to till date)

Coimbatore.

Ganga Hospitals and Medical Centre.
Focus on: Low back pain pathophysiology with respect to IVD disc Microbiome and Gut
Microbiome dysbiosis using OMICS approach.
Achievements:
 Identification of Bacterial metabolites in IVD samples using metabolomics and the
research paper published in the Spine Journal.
 Establishment of Gut dysbiosis and Lumbar disc degeneration work in progress.

2. Research Associate (June 2015 to Feb 2017)


Place: Agharkar Research Institute, Pune.
Supervisor: Dr. P. k. Dhakephalkar, Director
Title: “Development of Bioremediation process for petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated sites
using powdered microbial consortia” - IRS-ONGC project.
Achievements:
 Developed bacterial consortia capable of bioremediation of crude oil (10% concentration)
upto 88% within 5 months.
 Identified a novel bacterium Xylanimonas sp. Nov. that can efficiently degrade aromatic
hydrocarbons.
 Isolation of bacteria that can efficiently degrade different fractions of crude oil.

3. Research Associate (Mar 2013 to Dec 2014)


Place: BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus, Goa, India;
Supervisor - Dr. Srikanth Mutnuri, Professor, Biological Sciences.
Title: “Analysis of metabolically active bacterial speciesin anaerobic digesters”-CSIR Project-
Analysis of methanogenic diversity in anaerobic digester using DNA-SIP.
Output: Identified an effective methanogen that can tolerate psychrophilic conditions.
Isolation of methanogens from different anaerobic digesters using roll tube method.

Industry Experience – Total: 3 years, 3 months


1. Scientist - Genomics Technologies (Jan 2018 to Mar 2021)
Place: Raygenome Labs Pvt. Ltd. (Formerly Megavision Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd) Pune.
R&D Focus:
R&D for RT-PCR based and Sanger based mutation assay development for Oncology,
Nutrigenomics, and Infectious diseases. Next-Generation Gene panel designing for Oncology.

Carrying out Oncology and Nutrigenomics samples for Gene panels using NGS and RT-PCR,

Achievements:
 Established NABL accredicted Testing lab for testing RNA viruses using Real-Time RT-
PCR – COVID19 testing.
 Established Advanced Molecular Genomics Lab to Clients and trained staffs for Oncology
gene panels assays.
 Improved the efficiency of using the software tool used for Database development for
Pharmacokinetics.
