Welcome everybody! We are glad you are here to share a special story now that
Christmas time is near. Come and join us as we sing a special song.

SCENE #1
NARRATOR
Once in a land far far away lived a young woman named Mary who was getting
water, but then an angel appeared and the angel said unto Mary…

ANGEL #1
Fear not, I bring you good tidings of joy. You will bring forth a son named Jesus
Christ King of the Jews.
MARY
Oh, but I am not ready to have a child. What should I do?

NARRATOR
When Mary said that looking down, the angel left without Mary knowing.

MARY
Oh what am I going to do, I’m not ready for this. Maybe Joseph could help.

SCENE #2
MARY
Joseph! I need to tell you something.
JOSEPH
What is it?
MARY
I will bring forth a son, Jesus Christ, King of the Jews and-

JOSEPH
Mary, Mary, I know.
MARY
Really, how?

JOSEPH
An angel came to me last night, they told me everything.

MARY
Oh.
JOSEPH
Well what should we do?
MARY
I don’t know.
NARRATOR
And it came to pass Mary and Joseph decided to go to Bethlehem and have the
child there.

SCENE #3
NARRATOR
When Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem, now, they needed to seek shelter.

JOSEPH
Don’t worry Mary, we will find a place to stay.

(JOSEPH knocks on a door.)

INNKEEPER #1
What do you want?
JOSEPH
We’re looking for an inn to stay…

INNKEEPER
Well it’s not here. Now get out!
JOSEPH
But, sir! Please!
MARY
Will we ever find a place to stay?
JOSEPH
Yes, we will. I promise.
NARRATOR
Mary and Joseph looked everywhere, but no matter where they looked, no one
would let them in.
INNKEEPER #2
No room sorry, good bye.

JOSEPH
But, please!
INNKEEPER #2
No! Now get out!
NARRATOR
Mary felt the baby coming and she knew that they would have to stay on the
streets.
MARY
Joseph, the baby. I think it’s coming.

JOSEPH
Well, we better find an inn.
MARY
We won't be able to find one.
JOSEPH
Yes we will.
NARRATOR
Mary and Joseph came to the last inn, in Bethlehem.

(JOSEPH knocks on a door)

INNKEEPER #3
Hello, what is it that you want from me?

JOSEPH
We’re looking for an inn.
INNKEEPER #3
Well we have no room here, so move along now.

(Closing door)
JOSEPH
Please, the baby.
INNKEEPER #3
Bbba, baby?
JOSEPH
Yes, my wife. She’s going to have a baby.

INNKEEPER #3
Well if you're going to have a baby then we do have something you can stay in.

JOSEPH
Well, that’s great. Thank you so much!
SCENE #4
INNKEEPER #3
Well this is it, will this work?
MARY
Yes, it will do fine.
NARRATOR
After Mary and Joseph settled in, Mary felt lots of pain.

MARY
Joseph, the baby. It's coming.
JOSEPH
Okay.

2. AWAY IN A MANGER UNDERSCORE

NARRATOR
Finally Mary and Joseph had their baby, Jesus, the King of the Jews. They were so
happy!
MARY
I can’t believe it.
JOSEPH
You did it!
NARRATOR
Mary and Joseph were in shock and didn't believe it was true. Then a bright light
shined in the sky, it was the star.
MARY
Joseph, look!
JOSEPH
Amazing.
NARRATOR
The star in the sky was so bright it shined all throughout Bethlehem.

JOSEPH
Mary, go back to sleep, he is a beautiful baby boy.

SCENE #5
NARRATOR
The three shepherds were sleeping in a big field when a bright light appeared, it
was an angel!
ANGEL #2
Fear not, I have a message unto all people. For unto you a child is born this day in
the City of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord and you will find the baby in a
manger if you follow this star.
SHEPHERD #1
I see it, we’re going.
SHEPHERD #2
I can’t wait.
SHEPHERD #3
Where do we go, again?
SHEPHERD #2
We follow the star.

SCENE #6
NARRATOR
The shepherds left to find baby Jesus.

SHEPHERD #1:
I think we’re getting close to Jesus in the manger.

SHEPHERD #2
Over here!
SHEPHERD #3
Come on!
NARRATOR
The three shepherds had found Jesus, Joseph and Mary laying in hay on the
ground while Jesus was sound asleep in his manger.
(Waking up)
MARY
Joseph, people are here.
JOSEPH
What do they want?

(Taking JESUS)

MARY
I don’t know.
(Getting down on one knee.)

SHEPHERD #1
Please, we bring no harm unto you or your child.

SHEPHERD #2
We would like to see your child, Jesus, right?

MARY
Yes, Jesus is his name.

SCENE #7
NARRATOR
Far away there were three wise men who had seen the star but didn’t know what it
was.
WISE MAN #1
What is that new star?
WISE MAN #2
It is huge, and bright!
WISE MAN #3
Maybe it’s a sign.
WISE MAN #2
Wait it is—
WISE MAN #1
The sign of the Savior’s birth! We must find him and bring him gifts.

WISE MAN #3
Yes, of course! I will bring him gold.

WISE MAN #2
I will bring him frankincense.
WISE MAN #1
And I will bring unto him myrrh.
WISE MAN #3
I think it will be a long trip.
WISE MAN #2
Well, I wish to see the Savior before I die.

Well then, let’s start on our journey tonight!

WISE MAN #2-3

Okay.
NARRATOR
So the three men left their home to find baby Jesus.

SCENE #8
NARRATOR
King Herod had heard about the birth of Jesus.

KING HEROD
A baby, that will be the king, NO!!! I AM THE KING!! But where does this baby
live?
GUARD #3
King Herod!
GUARD #1
Welcome The Great Men of the East.

KING HEROD
What brings you here?
WISE MAN #1
We have been searching for baby Jesus, for he will be king.

WISE MAN #2
We saw the star, for which is a sign of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

WISE MAN #3
We don’t know where to find him, and we thought that you might have the answer
to our question.
KING HEROD
Well I will ask for you, one second.

WISE MAN #1
I hope he finds it.
WISE MAN #2
Me too.
KING HEROD
Well, it said that he lived, and was born in Bethlehem.

WISE MAN #3
Thank you, kind man.
KING HEROD
It’s King Herod! Oh and go and see the baby and bring me word so I can see him
too.
WISE MAN #1
Yes, King Herod.
NARRATOR
The wise men found where Jesus was thanks king Herod, but King Herod was
mad. He thought that he needed to be king and didn’t want Jesus to replace him. A
couple of days later, King Herod sits on his throne, and is very angry.

KING HEROD
Where are they?
GUARD #2
I don’t know.
GUARD #3
They’ve probably found him.
KING HEROD
Of course they’ve found him! He will not live a long life, he must be gone! Do you
understand!! He must die, KILL HIM, I SAID KILL HIM!!!

GUARD #1
Yes, King Herod.
KING HEROD
Oh and just to make sure, kill every baby boy!

SCENE #9
ANGEL #1
Joseph, Joseph, wake up. King Herod is wanting to kill the boy. You must take him
and his mother to Egypt.
JOSEPH
Mary, Mary wake up, we need to leave Bethlehem, now.

MARY
Okay.
NARRATOR
Mary, Joseph, and Jesus left right when a guard opened their door, no one was in

NARRATOR (CON’T)
the house. Everything was better now that they had left Bethlehem, to Egypt, and
then to Nazareth.

SCENE #10
JOSEPH
Do you want to carve wood?
YOUNG JESUS
Yeah, let’s do it.
JOSEPH
I’ll get the wood.
YOUNG JESUS
Okay, I’ll be here.
NARRATOR
Joseph went to get some wood when he heard a knock on the door.

JOSEPH
Mary, someone is here.
MARY
Let them in.
NARRATOR
Joseph opened the door and saw the three wise men..

MARY
Hello.
WISE MAN #3
We saw the star that let us know that Christ, the Savior was born.

WISE MAN #1
May we see him?
JOSEPH
Yes, you may.
NARRATOR
Mary and Joseph let them in and the wise men saw young Jesus.

(Getting on one knee)

WISE MAN #2
My Lord.

JOSEPH

SHEPHERDS QUAKE AT THE SIGHT

CHRIST THE SAVIOR IS BORN!
