Executive summary

Public health has played a vital role in protecting and promoting the health of rural communities across
the nation. To ensure the general health of the patients in the community, it important promoting
health education and giving service for the people like primary,secondary and tertiary prevention of the
disease. So this hospital will serve laboratory service,admission of patients ,patient care,family
planning,diagnosis and treatment of disease,peer education ,prevention of sexually transmitted diseases
and HIV/AIDS.This primary hospital consists of 35 beds including maternity bed,surgical side
bed,emergency bed etc...The required land which will be provided by abela abaya woreda
administrations through leasing is 3000 square metres for this project.This project is being taken so that
the poor people can get good healthservice from this hospital with lower expenditure. And this helps to
give health care practice with low cost availability to the people. Also to reduce the suffer of the
population in this area who transport to other places for medical care.And to give a high quality health
service to investors,tourists and other employees which reside in that area.In general this project aims
is to develop a comprehensive medical service and to provide high quality health care to the residents of
the area.

Problem statement: Majority of the rural people of abela abaya is poor and also depend on government
health structures for remedies from illness. In many of these communities, public health offices and
personnel are the only providers of health services. Although, there has been dramatic improvement in
the private sector health system, but unfortunately, they are meant to serve the rich only.

Project duration: this project will take about 10 years to complete.

Background
The rural poor have been more marginalized than the urban poor in our country. They are deprived
from all kinds of facilities.The direct contribution of health to human capital formation and socio-
economic development is unquestionable and well recognized. So modern hospital in local town is
essential for rural people. Moreover, Unhealthy people are usually poor because they cannot work to
earn a living. They are usually malnourished and susceptible to diseases and therefore unable to work
either in the fields in rural areas or workin factories in the cities, and are therefore unable to obtain
food, shelter, and clothing. Thus,they become poor, and because they are poor and they cannot obtain
adequate healthcare and

Project goal

This project has some specific goals such as to improve the conditions and contexts of rural poor
people ,children and women’s health and the benefits that will accumulate when men and women are
able to participate in working environment including support to achieve sustainable development
between men and women. Moreover local public may stay healthy and happy for long time. Moreover ,
to ensure our rural women health safely. Because we know that in every year thousands of mother are
being died because of negligence. So protecting their health and life of my locality is another big goal of
this project.

Project objectives:

We have some objectives for building up a hospital.

Increase the range of services wherever my local people fall in diseases they will getopportunities
according tto their need and demand.

Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for all patient, staff and visitors

Increase overall satisfaction rates of patients, employees and visiting medical officersAchieve patients
satisfaction.

To decrease the number of patients.

Promoting highly-advanced medical treatment (transplantation medicine, functionalsurgery, tailor-made

Target group:
The target group of this project is rural people. Basically this project is taken for the medicalservice of
my locality. Specially those who are poor and cannot bear the expensive medicalcost of renowned
hospital. And beside this all kinds of people regardless ethnicity, minorityand others. Here all
division of ages, occupation, gender will get the services. No discrimination would place here.

The hospital will have:- separate rooms for female and male patients.

-separate room for children under the age of 13 years.

-an isolation room.

- separate staff and patient toilet and inpatient room will have

- hand washing basins for each room.
