Student BMI & Data Analysis Tasks

The document provides instructions for analyzing a dataset of 100 students. The tasks include: 1) importing the dataset into Jamovi and coding variables, 2) calculating BMI from height and weight and categorizing BMI levels, 3) identifying variable types, 4) presenting summary statistics and graphs for each variable, 5) graphing relationships between gender/smoking status, gender/study time, height/weight, and exercise/coffee consumption, and 6) presenting descriptive statistics in a table. The expected deliverables are the Jamovi file and a Word document to be emailed by the next Thursday midnight.

Assignment 1:

Please check the attached dataset of 100 students carefully, and perform the
following tasks:
1- Import the dataset into Jamovi and do the needed coding.
2- Calculate BMI of the students: BMI = kg/m2
3- Create a new variable: BMI groups (underweight, normal, overweight, and
obese).
Underweight: <18.5
Normal weight: 18.5 to 24.99
Overweight: 25.0 to 29.99
Obese: 30 or greater

4- Identify the type of each data variable

5- For each variable , present summary statistics and one suitable graph.
6- Show graphically the relationship between:
- gender and smoking status
- gender and study time
- height and weight
- exercising and coffee consumption
7- Present the descriptive statistics of all your variables in one table (similar to
table one presented in scientific papers).

** Expected deliverables: the Jamovi file and one word document

to be sent by email to contact@[Link] , before Next Thursday
midnight.

Codes:
Gender: 0=male , 1=female
Exercising regularly: 0=No , 1=yes
