Proposed Title: The Problem with Caffeine as a “Way” to Battle Bad Sleeping Habits
Background of the Proposed Topic:
Caffeine is a natural stimulant that stimulates the brain and central nervous system, which
prevents and helps the person from tiredness and sleep deprivation. It activates the brain to stay
awake while doing a specific task at night, such as studying for a test, staying at work during
night shifts, etc. Even though caffeine may have a lot of benefits, it may have these kinds of
effects such as headaches, migraine, and high blood pressure in some individuals. In
addition, palpitation is also present where the heart rapidly and irregularly beats. Affecting
its mental and physical behavior in their surroundings. However, bad sleeping habits can be
changed over time.
The main objective for this study is to identify the reasons for sleep deprivation and
can this be prevented by an individual. Sleep deprivation caused by inadequate quality
of sleep or disruptions to the sleep-wake cycle (such as those that occur with shift work
or travelling to a different time zone) have consequences for how we function in the
daytime, causing sleepiness and fatigue. In line with this, the only way that they rely on
is caffeine. Avoiding such sleep deprivation must provide a routine and these routines will
help an individual to adapt and it will become a habit. With these, we can solve the
problem of sleep deprivation and less caffeine intake to prevent possible effects.
General Objectives:
This research will focus on identifying the effects of caffeine and what are factors that can
avoid bad sleeping habits.
1. Identify the effects of bad sleeping habits that affects the performance of an individual.
2. Know how it affects the cardiovascular and nervous system when caffeine is consumed.
3. Determine why caffeine can affect negatively in someone’s ability.
4. Find other ways on how to deal with sleep deprivation other than consuming caffeine.
Research Methodology:
Method
For this research, each 2-3 representative of High School students in LPU in their respective
classes, will be interviewed to tell their experiences of consuming caffeine and their reasons for
having lack of sleep. Additionally, all the data gathered from students will be generalized
depending on their answers given in the interview and identify the majority of the answers.
Design
The method that I will use for this research Qualitative Data since it contains interviews that its
data can come from different persons and answers. Since the interview contains different
answers, we piled all the data gathered to find the similar.
