Simulation Pros and Cons Explained

Simulation allows testing of various scenarios without building the actual system, saving time and resources. It identifies optimal solutions by answering "what if" questions and analyzing proposed systems. However, simulation results can be complex to interpret and models require skilled development, while testing all possible scenarios and systems may be infeasible due to expense and time constraints.

Advantages of Simulation

1. Simulation can answer “what-if” questions. It allows us to test every possible scenario and
choose the best resolve.
2. Helps us to test and analyze the proposed systems before collecting the resources needed.
3. It saves us time and effort because it does not require us to build the real system when
analyzing.
4. It allows us to interact with the variables and make changes immediately.
5. Can handle or resolve any complications faster than the other methods.

Disadvantages of Simulation

1. Simulation results might be hard to interpret because of its complexity.

2. There are a lot of possible scenarios and system to be test. Managers must choose that they
only want to try.
3. Models don’t have in common with one another; managers must build it differently to test.
4. The quality of the product is based on the quality of the model and the skills of the creator.
5. Simulation can be expensive because it requires a lot of work.
