Produce a detailed case study for an ‘out-of-town shopping centre’. The sort of out-of-town
shopping experience we are looking at may be called a ‘mall’ – a large, covered shopping
centre that has lots of different big-name stores. The shopping centre will probably have
additional leisure facilities such as restaurants, cinemas etc. The shopping centre will be
located on the edge of a large urban area, not in the CBD.
Your case study should answer the following questions:

- The shopping centre is located on the thane-belapur highway in Navi-Mumbai
Describe the out-of-town shopping centre?
- It is 5.3 lakh sq ft and is a singular shop. In addition to just shopping for furniture and
other amenities in the IKEA store you can also eat and drink beverages in the IKEA
Cafe. Kids can also enjoy the store as apart from shopping there is a Kids Play area
called Smaland where they can relax and have fun.
When was the out-of-shopping centre built? and by whom?
- The shop was built on December 18 of 2020 and its building was done by Inter IKEA
Holding.

What facilities/services are available to make the shopping experience easier and more
enjoyable?

drive time (i.e. one hour)?
- It is 11 minutes from the Sidhi Vinayak Society and is about 4.9KM away from it. It is
6 minutes from Indira Nagar and is 2.6KM away. Lastly it is 14 minutes away from
Gaondevi Maidan Road and is approximately 6KM away.
Has the out-of-town shopping centre caused any conflict in the local/regional/national area?
- The newly-opened IKEA store in Navi Mumbai, witnessed protests by residents of
