SCALPEL BLADE 10

This blade possesses a distinct curved cutting edge and is used

generally for making smaller incisions in skin and muscle. It is more
favorable for specialized surgeries such as harvesting the radial
artery during a coronary artery bypass operation, opening the
bronchus during thoracic surgery, and for inguinal hernia repair.

ARMY NAVY RETRACTOR

It is used for shallow or superficial wounds. It can be used to retract
skin or bones.
POTTS SCISSORS
Fine scissors used for creating incisions in blood vessels. A
specialized instrument used for sharp dissection of delicate
tissues. It is commonly used to make new incisions or enlarge
them during vascular grafts and cardiovascular surgeries.

SCALPEL BLADE NO. 15

The most popular blade shape ideal for making short and precise
incisions. It is utilized in a variety of surgical procedures including
the excision of a skin lesion or recurrent sebaceous cyst and for
opening coronary arteries.
WEITLANER RETRACTOR
Most commonly used in basic plastic surgery, large bone and
joint procedures, and mastoid surgeries. It is also useful with
small, deep incisions and soft tissue dissection at a superficial
level.

OVUM FORCEPS
It is used to grasp, hold, manipulate and remove tissue from inside
the uterus including the ovum and placenta. Ovum forceps are
used during procedures such as cesarean section, hysterectomy,
and uterine repair and are also sometimes used as a hemostat.
ADSON FORCEPS
It is a toothed forceps at the tip used for handling dense tissue,
such as in skin closures. Also called locking forceps, these are
ratcheted instruments used to hold tissue or objects, or provide
hemostasis.

RUSSIAN FORCEPS
It is are used for grasping heavy or thick tissue. The forceps are
straight with a circular cup-shaped serrated tip, The forceps are
also used in wound closure procedures.
DEBAKEY FORCEPS
A type of atraumatic tissue forceps used in vascular procedures
to avoid tissue damage during manipulation.

MURPHY RAKE RETRACTOR

A surgical retractor with an end shaped like a pitchfork or claw,
used to hold soft tissues during an operation.
DEAVER RETRACTOR
It is used to retract deep abdominal or chest incisions. Used in
Cholecystectomy (removal of gallbladder) for retraction of right
lobe of liver. It may also be used to move or hold organs away from
the surgical site. The Deaver retractor is shaped like a question
mark with a thin, flat blade.

MOSQUITO FORCEP
It is used to clamp off blood vessels, remove small root tips and
grasp loose objects. The instrument looks like dull scissors that
have a blocking mechanism right next to the handle, so it will stay
closed during the entire needed time.
METZENBAUM
Surgical scissors are designed for cutting delicate tissue and blunt
dissection. These scissors have extra-long handles and short
blades for deep cuts into the body. Metzenbaum scissors (also
known as dissecting scissors) have blunt cutting blades, that make
these scissors ideal for dissecting a variety of tissues.

TISSUE FORCEPS
A non-toothed forceps used for fine handling of tissue and traction
during dissection. They are also used to manipulate tissues,
support tissues while making incisions, and suturing, retract
tissues to improve exposure, grasp suture materials and needles.
They essentially “ become your fingers in most cases”.
RICHARDSON RETRACTORS
It is used to hold back deep tissue structures. Also called “Rich.”
They retract abdominal or chest incisions. Used for holding back
multiple layers of deep tissue. This is one of the most common
general retractors

MIXTER FORCEPS
A ratcheted, finger ring forceps commonly used for working in
obscured surgical sites. They are most frequently used for
clamping, dissection, or grasping tissue.
HUCK TOWELS
Also often referred to as surgical towels, are 100% cotton, very
absorbent, and extremely low lint cloths. They usually have
smooth sides, sewn edges and are available in various colors,
with blue and green being the most popular. They are often used
during a surgical procedure to drape over a patient. Their low lint
quality also makes them the cloth of choice to clean sterilized
surgical instruments. It is also used to drape over a patient.

SCALPEL BLADE 11
This scalpel is used for making stab-style incisions and short,
precision cuts. Often, these cuts are made in shallow or recessed
areas. An elongated triangular blade sharpened along the
hypotenuse edge with a strong pointed tip makes it ideal for stab
incisions needed when lancing an abscess or inserting a chest
drain.
NEEDLE HOLDERS
It is used for suturing wounds. Needle holders are equipped with
special devices that prevent the needle from slipping. Needle
holders allow doctors to access surgical areas that are difficult to
reach and protect doctors from pricking their hands or fingers.

ALLIS TISSUE FORCEPS

A surgical instrument with sharp teeth, used to hold or grasp heavy
tissue. It is also used to grasp fascia and soft tissues such as breast
or bowel tissue. Allis tissue Forcep can cause damage, so they are
mainly used in tissue about to be removed.
CURVED SCISSORS
It allows deeper penetration into the wound than the type with
straight blades. It is used to cut thick or heavy tissues such as those
found in the uterus, muscles, breast, and foot.

KELLY FORCEP
It is also known as Mosquito or Rochester forceps. This instrument
can be used as a clamp, and third hand. Handles have two-position
locking device. A type of hemostat usually made of stainless steel
used to clamp blood vessels and hold heavy tissues in place.
MAYO SCISSORS
It come various lengths. Their construction is extremely durable,
and Mayo scissors are used to cut connective tissues, fascia and
sutures, primarily. The tips are semi-blunt, and they are available in
curved or straight styles.

IRIS SCISSORS
A type of delicate, sharp-tipped ring scissors designed with short
blades that are either curved or straight. Iris scissor is an
instrument originally designed for ophthalmic procedures
intended for treating the delicate and soft ophthalmic tissues. a
fine tool for sutures cutting of soft and delicate tissues. In addition
to sutures cutting, iris scissor is use in so many other different
procedures related to surgery and excavating of particles on
fragile tissues.
MALLEABLE RETRACTOR
These retractors are made from malleable stainless steel, allowing
for easy modification of retractor angle and shape. The malleable
retractors are curved according to the curvature of the anatomical
site of the preplanned cavity into which the expanders are to be
inserted. These curved malleable retractors are then used both for
blunt dissection of the cavity and for measurement of the size of
the cavity

CURVED CLAMP
A curved hemostat can reach into and under places more easily
than a straight hemostat can. Using a curved hemostat also allows
a surgeon to grab arteries and veins that have receded slightly
after being cut and clamp them to stop the bleeding immediately.
It can be used for grabbing ahold of instruments. They generally
are used in the medical profession to hold several objects at once
while the medical professional's hands are otherwise engaged.
