Skills Summary
Problem Solving
While working for Transport Services as a Business Analyst and during my studies I have learnt
how to deal with and solve problems, I find it really enjoyable! While working on one a reporting
portal desktop application for one of our clients, a critical bug was identified during the final stages
of our development process, this bug prevented users from scrolling with the application. Working
alongside the development team I worked through several problem solving techniques which led to
me identifying a CSS styling element which caused this bug to occur. I removed this CSS styling
element and it fixed this problem. Throughout my university studies and Snapper Internship I have
developed my problem solving skills.
Leadership
Led a 4 person project team to build a Unity Web-Player Game – Drug Mine. The team developed
a multi-level platformer game which required cross-functional specialisation including an animator,
level designer, coder and sound specialist within a 10 week timeframe. The game was completed
and submitted on time to a high quality of gameplay. Before I enrolled in University, I was captain of
my football team for over 4 years. This role and other sports commitments taught me significantly
about respect, responsibility and team and morale management from a young age. This has
significantly influenced my work behaviour and ethnic.
Learning
I am a very fast learner, recently I gained experience in learning Processing Programming
Language through University course lectures and with help from my tutors which lead to me
completing several course projects in object oriented design. Applying this knowledge I developed
a point and click, wave clear, shooter processing game called Witch Hunter which I developed
within an 8 week timeframe. The project was completed and submitted on-time.
Communication Skills
Working for Transport Services I have developed my communication skills as I have worked in a
variety of different sized teams in an agile environment while also communicating with our project
manager and clients. One of my tasks at Snapper was to redesign the user experience of buying a
pass within Transport’s mobile application. Working, communicating and receiving feedback from
our marketing team, developers and with our product owner I was able to develop an interactive
mock-up which met the requirements of the user story. The project was completed and submitted
on-time. I was also Student Class Representative for MDDN201 acting as a link between staff and
students. My main role was listening and communicating between students and staff to resolve
problems.

Technical Skills
Solution Design
I am very experienced and interested in solution design. While working at Snapper Services I have
been involved with several tasks that have very short timeframes, these tasks involved quick
thinking and explorative solution design. One of these tasks was to redesign a page which showed
the transaction history of a Snapper Card. Alongside a front-end developer we follow a strict
process to come to a solution for this task. Conducting research, collecting data, mocking up
concepts, developments and a final design of the page we develop a solution to this task.
Throughout this process we received feedback from our clients and project manager.
User Experience
I am very interested in user experience and have a developed knowledge of user experience. User
experience is my most important aspect within my work. If the user isn’t absorbed by the
interactions within the product then the user's experience is far less enjoyable which could affect
their loyalty to the product – this experience could also affect their behaviour if the product is
essential to their day to day life. In my Project “King and the Sea” I had to re-develop an existing
children’s picture book in the form of an IPad application. This created an immersive interactive
experience through developed satisfying interactions. I developed alternative methods of
navigating content, generated user feedback loops, and provoked delight in small interactions.
Front-End Development
I believe I’m very experienced in front-end development for a student. I’ve worked with HTML,
CSS, JavaScript and jQuery for over 30 months. Internet design is a huge passion of mine, I enjoy
it because it is a fast paced developing area of design which combines problem solving and
aesthetic principles. The internet is a growing market and the opportunities within this field are
endless. Recently using these technical skills, I developed a website called ‘WeSeeYou’ which was
a visual investigation into the relation between privacy and the development of online technology in
a contemporary form. In this project I used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and GoogleMaps API.
This website was fully responsive and had a large focus on interactivity and User Experience which
created an immersive atmosphere for the user which held their attention while exploring the
website. ‘WeSeeYou’ was featured in the End of Year Top Design Exhibition 2014 at Victoria
University. My experience in these technical skills is current, and I’m developing these technical
skills further in MDD352: Mobile Media.
3D Modelling and Animation
I grasped a significant amount of knowledge in a short period of 12 months when learning and
developing my 3D Modelling and Animation skills. I discovered my passion for this skillset earlier
this year when I was exposed to this industry through my courses at University - and now I’m
hooked. In my project ‘Sceptor’ I demonstrated my extensive 3D Modelling and Animation technical
skills. In this project I had to think of an environment which considered contemporary issues and
develop a character that has lived and adapted to this environment. Fitting this brief, I designed a
character called Spector who was a humanoid fish who has adapted to an ocean environment
through its evolutionary cycle because of the effects of global warming. I developed a low poly and
high poly model for this character as well as rigging, weight painting and creating animations for
this character to use within the 3D Game Engine.
Other design tools that I have used: Photoshop, Indesig
Interests
I’m crazy about football. I am an assistant coach of the local team and love to watch all the
A-League games. I love to draw and sketch in my free time and I’m starting to learn how to paint
using watercolours.
