Pre-Lab Task: (To be done before coming to the lab) (4 marks)

As part of an aircraft’s functional monitoring system, a circuit is required to


indicate the status of the landing gear prior to landing. LED 2 (Light Emitting
Diode) display turns on if all three gears are properly extended when the “gear
down” switch has been activated in preparation for landing. Another LED (LED
1) display turns on if any of the gear fails to extent properly prior to landing.
When landing gear is extended, its sensor produces a HIGH voltage. When a
landing gear is retracted its sensor produces a LOW voltage.
Write the truth table for the aircraft landing system and make its logic diagram

LOGIC DIAGRAM: I used an online simulator for circuit diagrams.


Lab Task 1: (3 marks)
Implement the logic circuit you made in prelab with basic logic gates and verify
the truth table.
Make Schematic Diagram of the implemented circuit. Mention what and how
many gates you would be using? The following gates are available to you.

Answer: The gates that I used in these circuits are one AND gate and one OR gate.
Used OR gate for LED 1 and AND gate is used for LED 2.
Lab Task 2:
(3 Marks)
Implement the Circuit given below, and make its truth table. Show your results
to the lab engineer for verification.
