POINTS TO REMEMBER
• Keep your lead short. (35 words or less/ 3-4 lines)
Note: Keep it short and simple!
• Verbs are the adjectives of the news.
• Past tense and active voice. Avoid beginning with
“there” or “this”.
• Avoid using quotation, question or novelty lead.
