All threaded fasteners that do not have a tightening torque specification in the information are
tightened to a standard torque. Standard torques are available in the following specification.➠
Standard tightening torques
DANGER

The vehicle can be set in motion if appropriate safety precautions have not been taken.
▶ Before starting the engine, place the gear lever in neutral and apply the parking brake.
CAUTION
Heat shield
The sound baffle is also a heat shield to prevent hot air from reaching surrounding components.
▶ Always reinstall the heat shield/sound baffle after repair. Inspect for damage and replace if
necessary.
WARNING
Risk of burn injuries.
The coolant may be hot.
▶ Allow the engine to cool before starting work. Do not remove the cover for the coolant tank
before the coolant has had time to cool down.
▶ Remove the coolant tank cap carefully. Use the appropriate protective equipment.

2 Lock the roof spoiler.
3 Place the gear selector in neutral.
4 Apply the parking brake.
5 Exit the cab.
DANGER
Risk of serious injury or death.
A cab that is not tilted to the end position constitutes a safety risk.
▶ It is forbidden to work in,under or in front of a cab that is not fully tilted.
▶ No persons are to remain in, under or in front of the cab while tilting is in progress.
▶ Always tilt the cab to the end position.
CAUTION
Risk of material damage.
Failure to secure loose material in the cab, close all the doors and have adequate space in front of
the vehicle, before tilting the cab may, result in material damage.
▶ Secure all loose material within the cab before tilting.
▶ Ensure that all the doors are closed.
▶ Make sure that there is adequate space in front of the vehicle before tilting the cab.
6 Tilt the cab forward.
7 Remove the sound baffle.

42 Place the gear lever in neutral.

Ensure that the handbrake is applied.
43 Start the engine (3).
