3. Pre-requisites: Basic Knowledge of Computer, Internet and Cyber related issues

4. Course Objectives:
Information and Communication Technology is a novice branch of law that is fast, schematic,
futuristic and that has touched all walks of human life. This course will enlighten students about
the virtual world of computers and Internet that is dynamic, invigorating and expands into new
paradigms. This course will provide conceptual knowledge related to Information Technology
and systematic legal framework for collecting, storing, disseminating, and regulating electronic
information in the cyberspace. The subject of Information Technology Law provides the
knowledge of techno-legal aspects of a dispute relating to jurisdiction, e-contracts, cybercrimes
and privacy issues in internet. A Techno-legal lawyer is more effective at explaining technical

The objectives of the course are as follows:

1. Explain and identify the basic framework & theoretical aspects of cyberspace and Information
Technology Law.
2. Analyze contemporary problems using an in depth understanding of socio-economic and techno-
legal dynamics.
3. Rationalize, Research, and apply the regulatory framework and different legislative provisions in
the domain of Information Technology Law.
4. Integrate functional knowledge of cyber law with specialized capabilities to implement
comprehensive solutions to legal problems.

9. Cell Phones and other Electronic Communication Devices: Cell phones and other
electronic communication devices (such as Blackberries/Laptops) are not permitted in
classes during Tests or the Mid/Final Examination. Such devices MUST be turned off in
the class room.
10. E-Mail and online learning tool: Each student in the class should have an e-mail id and a
password to access the LMS system regularly. Regularly, important information – Date of
conducting class tests, guest lectures, via online learning tool. The best way to arrange
meetings with us or ask specific questions is by email and prior appointment. All the
assignments preferably should be uploaded on online learning tool. Various research
papers/reference material will be mailed/uploaded on online learning platform time to
time.
11. Attendance: Students are required to have minimum attendance of 75% in each subject.
Students with less than said percentage shall NOT be allowed to appear in the end
