GLOVING TECHNIQUE
DEFINITION: A procedures of wearing a sterile gloves, a disposable gloves used
during medical examination and procedures to help prevent cross-contamination
between nurse and patient.
PURPOSE: Act as a barrier between the health care worker’s hands and the patient
to prevent transmission of infectious agents in either direction, ad to prevent
contamination of a vulnerable area or invasive device through contact with non-
sterile gloves.
EQUIPMENT:

PROCEDURES RATIONALE
1. Remove jewelry, particularly rings. Ring may tear gloves and may harbor
microorganism.
2. Wash hands. Prevent spread pd microorganism.
3. Remove outer wrapper, peeling apart To prevent inner package from
