1. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this method statement is to outline the general requirements and precautionary description of
the civil works for extension of fire pipe line as

SCOPE OF WORK

The scope of work covers the procedures for carrying trial pit excavation to check the rout of existing cable.

2. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES

 Laydown area will be marked on the preliminary plan for review and approval.
 Excavation area shall be marked at site and submit along with excavation request for approval.
 The working area close to road side will be barricaded properly with safety cones and warning tape.
3. METHOD STATEMENT

3.1 TRIAL PIT EXCAVATION


 Only after getting excavation clearance and excavation permit excavation will start.
 Trial pit excavation will be done to check the rout of existing light pole.
 First Excavation Pit size shall be (1.5 L x 1.5 W x 0.7 D) – 1 No.
 Second Excavation Pit size shall be (0.8 L x 0.4 W x 0.7 D) – 1 No.
 Excavation will be carried out using hand tools only.
 If any services/ cables are found, work will be stopped immediately and inform Alba representative.
 Excavated material will be removed from site on daily basis.
 The area shall be barricaded with barriers & “Deep Excavation” sign boards will be placed around
excavated area.

4. SAFETY PRECUATIONS:

 Alba Site safety induction will be carried out.


 All site personnel involved in the activities under this Method statement shall wear reflective strips
coveralls apart from basic PPE like safety helmet, safety goggles, safety shoes, safety gloves,
respiratory masks etc.
 Adequate safety signs shall be provided for road safety as the work is being carried out near to road.
 Waste materials shall only be deposited in approved locations.
 Incorrect disposal of waste material shall be reported as an incident.
 Daily housekeeping will be carried out after the work.
 All vehicles shall stand outside the gas station fence.

 Hand tools (Pickaxe, Trowel, Shovel, etc.)


 Bucket
 Six wheel
 Wheel barrows
