Kindergarten Reading Readiness Initiative

The Kindergarten Reading Readiness Program aims to increase the number of kindergarten pupils ready in reading by at least 10%. Currently, 70% of kindergarten pupils pass the reading readiness checklist. The project identifies that inappropriate instructional materials and strategies and time constraints in supervision and feedback are root causes. Activities include observing classroom teaching, designing new instructional materials, monitoring classes, and providing feedback through monthly sessions.
