Rice is one of the world's most significant food crops. Approximately 488 million tons are
grown annually, with Asia accounting for approximately 90% of global production, around
85% of global demand, and 75% of the world’s exportable surplus. Pakistan is third largest
country to grow all kid of rice. Okara District is famous for its agriculture products.
Okara district is located in the heat of Punjab province. It’s consist of 4,377 km2 (1,690 sq

Okara District is famous for its fertile lands, peaceful natural environment and green fields
of Rice, Wheat, Potato, Tomato, Sugarcane and maize crops. Oranges and Mangoes
orchards are common. The area of district Okara is the gold mine for history seekers, spiritual
and curious travelers
There is a central ridge, in the centre of Okara District, which marks the old river bed of
the Beas, and the boundary between the eastern and western half of the district. The ridge
descends from Kasur, all the way to Chunian, and then Shergarh in Okara. As you go west of
the ridge, into Okara & Renala Khurd, the subsoil water is brackish; therefore the area is
dependent on canals for irrigation. However, after you cross the ridge east into Depalpur
Tehsils, the subsoil water is sweet and good for agriculture.
Other produce grown locally includes the outputs of lemon, guava & grapefruit orchards,
belonging to the food processing company, Mitchell's Fruit Farms Limited. The orchard runs
for about 6 miles, along with the LBDC, from Renala Khurd all the way up to the Okara
bypass.
Company History
History of Lasani group is very bright. Chairman Sh Muhammad Ashiq passed his B.Com
(Honors) from Helly College of commerce (Punjab University Lahore) in 1967. After
completion of education many companies offer jobs to Sh Muhammad Ashiq but he has
refused. He has a very clear mindset that he intends to start his own family business.
He returns to his home town Baserpur and start business of Fertilizer & Peptizes with his
brother Sh Muhammad Akram under the name of Sh Aslam Brothers Baserpur. Under this
name Sh Muhammad Asiq achieve great success.
After few year Sh Aslam Brothers established a filling station. This filling station was famous
in the area for its quality and service.
In 2010 management of LRM establish a paper mills named Lasani Paper Mills at Depalpur
road. This mill has state of machinery, skilled labor and producing fine quality paper for the
country and helps to save foreign exchange.

people. In 1998 company stated its local trading to procure the quality paddy for its rice unit.
Lasani Rice Mills (LRM) is located in the heart of best rice growing belt in Pakistan named
“Okara District”. Now the company is one of the leading exporters of all kinds of rice from
Pakistan. Having an experience of more than 3 decades in the field of Rice, Lasani Rice Mills
(LRM) is expanding its network across the globe. Today Lasani Rice Mills (LRM) is a
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management
System), ISO 45000:2018 (Health and Safety Management System) and ISO22000:2005
(Food Safety Management system) certified company.

Rice Farming
For the production of fine quality rice LRM stated the cultivation of rice in its own
agriculture farms near Baserpur. The specialty is that LRM produces its own seed of rice for
its use and also sales this quality seed to other farmers in the area. This seed is famous for its
quality and getting extra products. Farms of LRM are on number one to getting the paddy in
all area.
Paddy Procurement
The quest to sale best rice starts with seed selection. Keep this idea in mind finest quality of
paddy is purchased from the best rice growers. Price is not an issue where quality matters.
Farmers are directly contacted to ensure that we receive the highest quality of paddy.
Comprehensive inspection & testing precede purchase of paddy lots. Random samples are
drawn from paddy and tests are performed after processing in mini mill to confirm yield,
grain length, field admixture and cooking characteristics. Every lot has to meet stringent
quality parameters before selection for processing.
Paddy drying
Drying of paddy is an art. The maturity of Rice directly effects the cooking of Rice. Once
cleared from the laboratory, paddy is then received in drying section equipped with latest
steam dryer technology.
The moist paddy is fed into the steam column dryers controlled by heat exchangers. The
moisture of the paddy is controlled through a smooth and constant supply of hot air blowing
in the chambers of the steam drying columns that brings the moister down from 24 percent to
12 percent. The paddy is then sent to godowns for a minimum of 72 hours tempering process.
Steam Rice (Sella)
Production of steamed rice (Sella) is a very delicate and technical process. We make sure that
we achieve the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene while carrying out this process.
Our experienced team constantly monitors that the highest standards are being maintained for
the interest of our customers’ benefit.
Husking
Paddy husking is a very delicate job in rice industry. We perform this work with state of art
machinery and fully skilled work force. We maintain the rice quality to keep its natural
outlook without broken edges.
We used high quality huskers offer high performance and unmatched capability for removing
husk from paddy rice. We use unique feeding mechanism gives the ability to dehusk rice at a
greater capacity than conventional huskers.
Rice Polishing
After husking paddy, rice is in brown color we turn rice in White color with our latest rice
processing machines. We have expert team for this process. The layer of Bran is removed
through polishing process to achieve the pearl white look.
This process is carried out through several passes to save the grain from breakage, depending
upon the requirement of whiteness.
Water polishers installed at Lasani Rice Mills (LRM) gives an extremely clean and glossy
appearance to the grains, which is a distinguished advantage over traditional milling methods.
Rice Grading
After polishing process Rice is graded at different stages on the basis of length and thickness.
The shriveled, under-milled and broken grains are separated from the whole grain to achieve
optimum and uniform grain length. This process is carried through three stage length and
thickness grading cylinders.
Color Sorting
A rice color sorting machine separates rice grains according to color differences in raw rice
arising from anomalies like bits of stone, bad rice, black rice, etc. A high-resolution CCD
optical sensor drives a mechanical sorter to separate different color rice from final product.
By removing such impurities in this process improves the quality of the rice.
Packing
In Lasani Rice Mills, we use sealed rice storage bins after color sorting process. From storage
bins our work force packed rice into required packing bags and stitched or sealed these bags
according to weight demands by our customers. We use environment friendly packing
material.
Shipping and Logistics
Shipping is a very important part of supply chain and its importance is even more significant
when the cargo is rice. At Lasani Rice Mills, we have a complete established shipping and
logistics section. This section gives complete shipping solution to our customers and handles
their shipments. We provide tracking information to our clients. We also ensure that our
customer should not face any hassle at POD.
