Teacher’s Activity Pupils’ Activity

1. Setting of Rules and Standards
A. Preliminaries
(Setting of Rules)
Before we start our lesson, I want you to be
aware of our class rules.

If I will raise the angry emoji, you will stop what

you’re doing and pay attention to the teacher.
And when I raised this happy emoji, you are
doing right.

Now, what are you going to do when I raised this

angry emoji? We will stop what we are doing and must pay
attention, sir.
How about when I raised this happy emoji?
We are doing right, sir.
So, what are you going to do when you know to
yourselves that you are doing right? We will continue what we are doing, sir.
Very good.

2. Science Trivia

Do you know is this?

This is a black hole. Do you know that black holes

are caused by the remnants of stars?
Most black holes form from the remnants of a
large star that dies in a supernova explosion.
Gaia BH1 is the nearest black hole from earth. It
is about 10 times more massive than our sun,
lurks just 1,560 light-years from our planet.
Now, our sun is a star, so will our sun become a
black hole someday?
No, sir.
Yes. Because our sun is small enough to become
a black hole.

Did you like our science trivia for today?

Yes, sir.
Now we are going to review first our past lesson
before we will learn our new topic for today.
3. Review

Good morning once again children.

I want you to answer the following questions

about our previous topic about. What is our
previous topic by the way?
Our previous topic is all about force, sir.
Very good. Now, answer the following.

1. What type of force shown

in the picture?

Pull, sir.

2.What type of force Push, sir.

shown in the picture?

The object will either be pushed or pulled, sir.
Now, what are the possible effects of force when
being applied to objects?

Very good children. Our previous topic is about

force.
B. Preparation

Very good. After recapping our previous lesson, I

will be grouping you into 3. The title of the
activity is, “Complete the Bubble ” In a bubble
map, write the concepts about what I will be
demonstrating in front. Write your answers on a Magnet, sir.
sheet of paper.

What is this?

 The magnets will attract the metal, sir.

 The magnets will not attract the metals, sir.

What happens when I will be brought near the

metals to the magnet?

Let us find out later.

Now this is the bubble map. you may now write
the concepts related to magnet.

Do you have magnets at home?

Yes, sir.

C. Presentation

Now class, do you still remember this?

Yes, sir.

So, what are these things?

The concepts about magnets, sir.
Now, what does the magnet does to the metals?
The magnet attracts the metals, sir.
Do the metals be pulled or pushed?
The metals are pulled, sir.
Pulled towards?
Pulled towards the magnet, sir.
Very good. We learned in our last topic about
pull and push are the types of force. Now, does
the magnet has force?
Yes, sir.
How can we say that the magnet has force?
We can say that the magnet has force when it pulled

Very good. Now, what is our topic for today?
Our topic for today is describing the force of magnets,
sir.

Very good. What will you do when I am

presenting our lesson for today? Give one.
Pay attention, sir.
What else?
Takedown notes, sir.
Very good. You are now ready for our topic for
today.
D. Comparison and Abstraction

Now class, what is magnet?

Magnets attract objects made of iron, sir.
Based on presentation, if magnets attract
objects made of iron, what do you think
Based on the presentation sir, magnet is being
surrounds a magnet?
surrounded by magnetic field, sir.
What is a magnetic field?
It is the area wherein the magnetic force takes its
effect, sir.
I will be giving you an example of magnet.
This magnet is very big and it pulls things
toward its center. What is this magnet? Earth, sir.
Very good. Our planet earth is a gigantic
magnet. Now, are you familiar with this?

Yes, sir.
That is a compass, sir.

Its needle, sir.

What is this?

What part of the compass that is a magnet? Permanent, sir.

Very good. The needle of the compass is the

magnet. The needle rotates to search for the Permanent magnets maintain its magnetic property

Now, what are the kinds of magnets? It

begins with p.

Very good. Now what is permanent magnet?

Now the second one is temporary magnets.

Temporary magnets act as magnets only
when it is in the magnetic field of a
permanent magnet. Can you spot where is
the temporary magnet in this illustration?

The iron clips are the temporary magnets, sir.

The magnet itself, sir.

No, sir.

Very good. How about the permanent

magnet? Brass, tin, aluminum, and copper, sir.

I want to ask you this. Do magnets attract all Those are nonmagnetic materials, sir.
metals?
What do you think are the metals that don’t
attract a magnet? It is strongest in its poles, sir.

What do you call those metals?

where the magnetic force is the strongest?

Now, the earth has two poles, the south pole They repel, sir.
and the north pole. Now, what the two poles

they attract or repel? Yes, sir.
Yes, because like poles repel and unlike poles Yes, sir.
attract.

Now, do you still remember the compass?

Do you think the compass beneficial to us? Radios, computers, speakers, refrigerators. sir,

Do you think magnets are beneficial to our

everyday life?

One example of an object that used magnet

is our television. Now, what are the other The two types of magnets are the permanent and

Very good. Now let us sum up our lesson for Magnetic field, sir.
today by asking you series of questions.

E. Generalization Nonmagnetic materials, sir

What are the two types of magnets?

In its poles, sir.

What do you the field that surrounds a
magnet?
The south and the north poles, sir.
What do you call the materials that magnets
don’t attract? Repulsion is where like poles brought near to each
other; attraction is where unlike poles brought near to

strongest magnetic force?

What are the two poles of magnet?

Explain repulsion and attraction.  Pencils—can attract magnets.

 Pencil case (if it is iron—can attract magnets if
not so it cannot attract magnets).
 Ballpen—cant attract magnets.
After summing up our lesson for today, let us  Paper—cant attract magnets.
apply what we have learned.
F. Application
Let us have an activity. The title of the activity is
“What is Inside?” I will be giving you answer
sheets. I want you to look inside your bag.
Characterize the objects found in your bag
whether it can attract magnets or not.

G. Evaluation T
Now, after applying what we have learned for today. F
Let us test your knowledge about our lesson by
F
conducting a simple quiz.
F
Write T if the statement is true and F if false.
