REASONS àIf It’s required by the non‐normal check list

DIVRSION unsuitable for any reason before reaching the ETP.
àExcessive fuel consumption exceeding the available fuel reserve
àExcessive fuel consumption, exceeding the available fuel reserve.
àLoss of MNPS or RVSM capability (North Atlantic).
àAPU fire.
àDuel engine fail / stall.
àOne AC power source (one main engine gen.
And APU gen. Or both backup generators.)
àPilot incapacitation.
PLANING
Must be at or above the minimum listed , One hour before or one
ENROUTE hour after the established earliest and latest time of landing at
ALTRNT. that airport. Forecast wind for the expected runway, must not
WETHER exceed MAX cross wind(38K)
CONTINGENCY PROCEDURES
1. If an aircraft is unable to continue the flight according to ATC clearance OR maintain the
Navigation performance > A revised clearance shall be obtained .
2. The radiotelephony distress (MAYDAY) OR (PAN PAN) shall be spoken 3 times.
3. Until a revised clearance in received the pilot shall :
A) Leave the assigned Rout or Track by turning 45 degrees initially to the right or left .
B) If unable to maintain assigned FLT. LVL. , initially minimize the rate of decent to the lowest.
C) Acquire and maintain an offset Track Laterally by 15 NM.(Once established descent /climb 500ft.).
D) Establish communication with a nearby aircrafts on 121.5 MHz or 123.45 MHz.
(Explain the situation) / ( Include: ATS Route / Track designator or Track Code ).
E) Maintain a watch for conflicting traffic , both visually and by TCAS.
F) Turn On all exterior Lights .
(( EMRGENCY DEASENT PROCEDURES )
A) Plan to descend Below FL 280 . 15
B) Prior to passing FL 410, proceed to a point midway between a convenient NM
pair of organized Tracks prior to entering that Track system from above .
C) While descending between FL 410 and FL 280 , maintain a Track that is
midway between and parallel with the organized Track .
D) Contact ATC as soon as practicable and request a revised ATC Clearance .
