INT.ROOM
You see Damini swing the door open in a hurry. As she runs
into her room to grab her canvas, a silhouette of a man is
seen in the background.
The scene pauses and the ghost talks
THE GHOST:
OH WAIT! I DON’T THINK YOU
NOTICED ME.
The scene rewinds and zooms into the figure in the
background, revealing the ghost’s identity. He is seen as
a translucent figure wearing mundane clothes and glasses.
Looking a little dull, he looks directly at the camera and
talks.
THE GHOST:
WELL, LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF TO
YOU. I AM MR GHOST BUT THIS
STORY IS NOT ABOUT ME. TO BE
VERY HONEST I DON’T EVEN KNOW
WHY I AM HERE.
THE GHOST IS
SEEN EXITING
THE DOOR AND
WALKING
OUTSIDE AS
THE
NARRATION IS
GOING ON
INT.ROOM
THE GHOST:
I HAVE BEEN PLACED WITH A LOT OF
PEOPLE. COUPLES WITH SO MUCH
LOVE THAT IT MADE ME A LITTLE
BIT SICK, I’M NOT MUCH OF A
ROMANTIC. PEOPLE WITH ANGER
ISSUES THAT HAD BEEN PASSED ON
TO THEIR DOGS BY THEM CAN ONLY
BE DESCRIBED AS UMM INTERESTING.
KIDS WHO WERE SIMILAR TO DAMINI
ALWAYS RUNNING AROUND, BUT THEY
WERE WAY YOUNGER THAN HER. I
HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE LIKE HER,

WHY DON’T YOU TAKE A LOOK FOR
YOURSELVES?
THE GHOST
ENTERS THE
ROOM FROM
THE WINDOW
AND MOVES
THE FLYING
CURTAIN WITH
HIS HAND:

A calm background score starts playing. A montage of
Damini doing different activities is shown. Pottery,
baking, gardening. All these clips are tied together with
subtle hints. As the scene progresses the colours start
changing. They start becoming dull and cold, and
noticeable sadness dawns upon Damini. She is sad and upset
about something.
THE GHOST:
BUT THESE DAYS, SHE’S BEEN
DIFFERENT. THAT SPARK IN HER IS
COMPLETELY GONE
She is seen crumpling paper and throwing it away into a
pile of torn sheets
THE GHOST:
I KNOW THIS FEELING, IT’S
SOMETHING EVERY ARTIST GOES
THROUGH, I WOULD KNOW. I WAS A
PAINTER JUST LIKE HER
DAMINI
LEAVES HER
BRUSH ON THE
BLANK SHEET,
WALKS TO HER
BED AND LIES
DOWN. IN A
MATTER OF
FEW MINUTES,
SHE FALLS
ASLEEP:

The ghost pulls a stool towards the bed where Damini is
sleeping. He slowly sits down.
3.
THE GHOST:
I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE GOING
THROUGH A TOUGH TIME, I WENT
THROUGH THE SAME THING. WHEN I
USED TO FEEL STUCK, I WOULD MAKE
MYSELF A CUP OF COFFEE AND SIT
IN MY GARDEN AND LOOK AT THE
SKY. GET MESMERIZED BY THE WAY
THE CLOUDS USED TO HUG THE
MOUNTAINS. I KNOW YOU CAN’T HEAR
ME RIGHT NOW AND THERE IS NO WAY
FOR US TO COMMUNICATE. I DON’T
EVEN KNOW WHY I AM SITTING HERE
AND TELLING YOU THIS STORY, ALL
I KNOW IS THAT YOU ARE A VERY
BRIGHT GIRL AND YOU WILL SOON
GET OUT OF THIS MESS KUTTI.
As the ghost walks away you see the aura around Damini
change to green, the ghost notices this but lets it go.
GHOST WALKS
OUT OF THE
ROOM:
INT.ROOM
THE GHOST:
I’VE NEVER SEEN A GREEN AURA
AROUND SOMEONE.
(THINKING TO HIMSELF)
The next morning you see Damini making a painting. She is
sitting at her table, covering most of her artwork with
her body and panting with utmost concentration.
The ghost tries to peak but is unable to. Damini gets up
from her chair and the camera zooms into her face. She has
a wide smile on her face. The ghost looks at the painting
over her shoulder.
The camera slowly pans from behind her shoulder and the
painting is revealed. It’s the same scenery that was
described by the ghost the previous night.
